50th anniversary for the Polynesian

October 2021 will also be the 50th anniversary for Disney’s Contemporary and Polynesian resorts – any speculation if there will be special events at the Poly and Contemporary to celebrate their 50th anniversary? Have there been special events at these resorts on previous anniversaries? If yes, I would love to hear about past resorts anniversary celebrations (especially at the Polynesian). Thanks

Probably, to celebrate, Disney will increase the nightly rates by 15%. Since there have never been any other 50-year resort dates, whether anything will happen is an unknown, but I have no recall of any other anniversary (10-year, 20-year, etc) special events at any of the resorts. Disney will have events at MK since that has its 50th-year birthday in October 2021, but I have not seen anything mentioning special things at the resorts. Nevertheless, if it is thinking like it usually does, it may have some special event on the top of the Contemporary at California Grill and charge only $800 a person.

That is sad, you would think at the very least some 50th anniversary merchandise.
