My parents hinted that they are interested in eating at 50s Prime Time Cafe at least once during our trip. Is it worth the price for lunch? Should we skip it or just stop there for milkshakes and dessert instead? Thanks.

One of the restaurants on our favorite list. We all thought the food was great! I think your parents would enjoy..... and you will too.

We love Prime Time. Of course for us its the atmosphere and the food. We do really enjoy the food there. Its like home cooking; pot roast, fried chicken, etc.
Plus we love the atmosphere. The waitstaff is funny and they joke with you. If you dont like to be put on the spot though this place may not be for you, since they do like to do that. So far our favorite waiter is Topher, he is wonderful! Ask for him when you go.

I went to there for the 1st time last December & I loved it. When I was there I had ordered the Stacked Sandwich & was able to change the chips for French Fries & for desert I had an amaizing Strawberry Sunday. Also I finished all the food on my plate, so I did not get yelled at by Mom lol. I remember our waitress was Sister Liz & I thought she was very funny. So I say go there because you won't regret it.

This is one of my favorite, must-dine places at WDW!!! :woohoo: Love the food and the service. :thumbsup2 I always get the fried chicken (yummy!!).

WE also love the 50's Prime Time Cafe. The food is your basic homestyle cooking. Pot roast, fried chickem, stuff like that. But what what my wife and like about is the decorations. All of the 50's decore, nic nacks, TV programing, is amazing! There are so many items form the table you sit at, to small appliances that are out, to the color schemes used, that both of us remember all of this in our mothers or grandmothers kitchens specificaly! It really brings the little kid feeling out in us. This is great place to eat and be nostalgic in, all at one time! Have fun there.

We have always enjoyed the fried chicken, pot roast, onion rings and desserts. The shakes are awesome especially the PB&J!

Hubby and I were just there for lunch this past March, and we hadn't been since the kids were little. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was good (I had the chicken, he had the pot roast). The waiter was very attentive, great service and we found a new wonderful wine. A chardonnay made especially for the 50th anniversary, we were able to purchase serveral bottles in DTD to take back home.

We ate there this past February and it was fun. Waiter was introducing everyone as "cousins". The people beside us were from Arizona and we are from Ohio. The funny thing was these people were originally from Ohio....lol.

:thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :teeth:

Add another "yes" vote for 50's Prime Time! I love to go and "misbehave" so I get told to stand in the corner or sweep the floors. My kids love to watch me being "put in my place", lol.

The decor is so much fun - reminds me of my grandmother's house when I was a kid + the food is above average.

We ate there for the first time this trip. The food is goooooooddddd!! The fried chicken is one of the best I ever had. Make sure you have the S'mores for dessert.

The food here is excellent! Really. It's not just a fun place to eat, you really get delicious food. The pot roast, to die for. :cloud9:

And get a banana split - and be ready to share it - it's huge! :teeth:

This is one of our favorites, we always go for a later lunch to rest and cool off while having a great meal and some fun. The food is terrific, I love the potroast and dh loves the meatloaf and the sandwiches. Even though my kids have to set the table, keep their elbows off the table and eat the vegies they look forward to this restaurant every trip.

Last trip I was solo and had to have my PT meal so I sat at the bar and had a wonderful time with bartender "aka cousin".

We NEVER miss a visit to this place. It is a lot of fun, and the food is down home goodness. My favorite meal: pb&j milk shake, fried cheese appetizer, meatloaf, dad's sundae and a roll of TUMS!! After this great lunch last November, I had to return to the hotel for a nap. The fried chicken, pot roast and chicken pot pie are also tasty.

I'm glad to hear such great reviews on this. I've always wanted to try this and I finally convinced my family to make a reservation. So we will be going for lunch in October...very excited now after hearing these reviews :thumbsup2

Keep in mind everyone has their own opinion and unfortunately mine is not the best review in the 'world'. We booked this restaurant 2 years ago and thought it would be pretty cool considering the theme and everything. Our waitress was in full character which was pretty funny. My food was 'okay', but when it comes to meatloaf, I'm pretty picky. The people sitting next to us and I mean right next to us (which is something I absolutely do not like) were not so into the 'whole theme thing' of 50's Primetime. When our waitress came around and told us and them to clean our plates or no dessert they were completely not receptive. It took a bit out of the fun of the dining and was frustrating as well. Of course my husband and I couldn't really talk about it because they were so close to us so we tried to eat quickly and leave. Other than that it was 'okay'. I hope you enjoy your time there.

We ate there a couple weeks ago. Food was very good but service wasn't, we had a dud server who hardly acknowledged us because he had a large party in the room next door.

We'll be back though! :teeth:
