This is my 500th post. I don't have much to say other than THIS IS MY 500th post.
I believe that makes me a veteran (take that lowly mousketeers!)
So that means I am ready to be tagged. I have been dreaming of this day forever. I say tons of stupid things all of the time so it should be really easy to pick on me.

Can someone tell this "mostly lurker" what it means to be tagged?

The DIS boards has a mysterious Tag Fairy who reads the boards and will put funny quotes or sayings under your user name. Sometimes it is something you say in a post or something someone has said about you, ect...

If you notice under my user name are a couple quotes, one is "I am actually a Princess." I posted that after someone said they thought I was a guy. The Tag Fairy saw that and put it as my tag. The Tag Fairy's tags are always in different colors. You can make your own tags, but only the Tag Fairy can do colors. Tags are coveted. I went years before I got one. Some people get theirs in a few days or weeks. Just depends. No one knows who the Tag Fairy is.

It would...but I can say way crazier stuff. For example:
Lied to my family to get a dole whip
I have a beautiful photopass pic of my son picking his nose
I want to go near the damn lakes just because Pete tells me not to

It took me like a month when I first joined to figure out why I could not have pretty colored sayings under my name like all the cool kids. Thanks!!

Thank you for this. I just assumed people were doing it themselves. Good to know that the colored ones are done by the mysterious tag fairy.

I imagine it's one of those things where if you try to get tagged it won't happen. One of those "when you least expect it, expect" it deals, right?
