$500 Disney Dollars w/Visa Problems Update on 2nd pg

We bought into DVC in October when one of the incentives was $500 in Disney Dollars if you put your down payment on your Disney Visa. We did this and we still have not seen these dollars on our statement. I called last week and they are "investigating" and will get back to me. Is any one else having problems getting their $500?

We had a similar situation when we added on at AKV. We put the entire purchase on our credit card because of the double rewards dollars promotion for categories under food, gas, and lodging. The purchase was eligible, but yet we didn't see the double rewards 3 months later. I called and they said there was a specific "waiting period." I waited till the end of the period which happened to be around Christmas. I called back again and got the same story. Another week later I still wasn't getting results. Luckily, I documented EVERY phone call I made to Chase. I wrote down the time of each call, the person I spoke with, and the statements they made. After mulitple long conversations, an "investigation" period, and a verification process with a manager. We FINALLY got our reward dollars nearly 6 months after the purchase.

You will most likely get your money, if you go through the steps we did, but be prepared for a long battle. I'm sorry for your frustration, I know how it feels.

We bought 200 SSR in October and received the $500 on the December statement.

We bought at the end of November/beginning of December. We just got a phone call on Thursday that there was an issue with the account #. They got the correct info and we were told it would take two more billing cycles before we got the money. I'm hoping to see it before our June trip.

We put the downpayment for AKV on our card in October and still haven't received the $500.00. I called our guide and he said to give it one more month. If it's not on our next statement, I will start calling Visa. Very disappointed as this was a deciding factor in buying the points.

I bought in late September and got my $500 on my December statement.
It took 30 days after closing which is what I was told.
My DVC guide made sure to take my Disney Rewards account # which is different then the acctual credit card number. He said they needed this number for the promotion to go through and it was very important I give it to him. As soon as I got to a computer I looked it up and called him with it.

I believe your Rewards number is located on the website if you log in to pay your bill and hit manage rewards.

I am not surprised! I had so many issues with Chase, I finally cancelled my Disney card. It just wasn't worth the headaches trying to get the rewards. I never actually did get any in all the time I had the card.

That sucks, but thank you for the information. I will begin logging all of my calls and who I talk to. I will get this money!!!

I don't remember all of the details, but we missed the promo because our Disney Visa account wasn't officially opened until Sept 2, 2007 even though we applied in mid August. We were told that the account had to be opened prior to September.

I too am hoping to use that money during our May trip. I will be calling my guide on Monday. I am very irritated.

I agree, I can not stand Chase. We were very disappointed when Chase took over Bank 1. We cancelled our card after continous problems every month with Chase

but we finally gave back in and reopened a new account this month, just spend way too much with our business to pass up all those points

we will see how it goes second time around

same thing happened with our old mbna accouts when they went over to bank of america

I called my guide today and she wasn't working so I spoke with Derek and he told me they have been having problems with this incentive. He did reassure me that I would get my Disney $$$. I left a message with my guide and hopefully we will have some resolution soon. I am documenting all calls.

I called Chase today and inquired. Not really worried, 'cause I know we'll get them.

The lady at Chase advised me that when the Disney guide processed it, they were putting the wrong "code" in - so with it not being processed properly, they could not assign the reward dollars.

I then e-mailed Disney and told them what I was told - it will be read tomorrow morning when the office opens at DVC.


Some guides gave the right "code" and MOST of the DID NOT.........

it wasn't "our" number to put thru. The Disney rep. didn't put the correct "code" in for most of them.

They have my correct number from my rewards also but the rep. didn't process it correctly.

There is a Disney Rewards thread further down on these boards, and there everyone says how sometimes they get the promo rewards, sometimes not. I am doing the promo where you get 5x's the rewards if you purchase gas, food, restaraunt dining and pharmacy with your card. However, I only have to purchase $600 worth in 3 mos. Others have to purchase 800, some 1200, some no minimum purchase amount! Also, if you buy at like super Walmart, BJ's they don't count (has to be specifically gas stations, grocery stores, etc.) So.......if I don't get these rewards, I am never doing these promos again.

Not with buying items/merchandise on your Disney Card at retail stores.

These people are entitled to the $500 rewards, not "maybe" or "when".

These people are entitled to the $500 rewards, not "maybe" or "when".

Obviously, you missed the point. There are "catches" to this promo. For example, if you by a resale, you are not eligible for this credit. Only through Disney. Since there are obvious flaws in the communication of the code, don't be surprised that legitimate purchasers do not get this credit. The point from my post was that the rules are not straight forward, and even these mistakes will be subject to interpretation. Do not hold your breath.
