Goodbye England's rose, may you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed itself where lives were torn apart
You called out to our country, and you whispered to those in pain
Now you belong to heaven and the stars spell out your name

And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset when the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here, along England's greenest hills
Your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will

Loveliness we've lost, these empty days without your smile
This torch we'll always carry for our nation's golden child
Even though we try, the truth brings us to tears
All our words cannot express the joy you brought us throughout the years

And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset when the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here, along England's greenest hills
Your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will

Goodbye England's rose, may you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed itself where lives were torn apart
Goodbye England's rose, from a country lost without your soul
Who'll miss the wings of your compassion more than you'll ever know

And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset when the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here, along England's greenest hills
Your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will

Diana was indeed the Princess to the world, we continue to miss her presence.</center>

Thanks Dan, she was the only Royal I had any time for.
Aren't you a day early?

As I said on the thread on the other CB, it was an extraordinary time here - had there ever been such an outpouring of public grief before in the UK?
I, along with many other people, won't forget how and where I heard the news, nor the experience of going up to Kensington Palace several days after her death.

Yes, TT, a day early.

I just thought I would post the link to virtually the same (slightly different) thread on the other CB. Many folks are still profoundly saddened, I among them, by the death of Princess Diana, and they have some nice thoughts to share with you.

A true Princess she is

:( :(

To our UK friends - as Dan said, - thanks for sharing your Princess with the world. She was a special lady and we miss her.

We were in WDW at the time of the accident. My daughter took it the hardest but we were all so saddened.

Thank you, Dan for the wonderful tribute and yes, I agree with all: she truly was a special lady.

Aloha,
Lorraine
