My 5 year old is 4 feet tall and can ride a lot of rides. He is pretty skinny, will he be able to handle the Tower of Terror or Expedition Everest? He says he wants to ride them, but he might change his mind when he gets up close.

My then three year old rode ToT last August on our trip. He is also really tall for his age and rode all of the thrill rides. He really liked ToT and that's all he talked about for weeks after we got back. He is looking forward to riding EE when we go this August.

I would let him make the decision when you get there. They both look pretty intimidating just standing back looking at them.

Definitely have him make the decision once he sees both attractions in person. Support his decision now but if he bails upon seeing the real thing, then go with it. Expedition Everest isn't that bad but that drop looks awful from the outside (it's not bad). Twilight Zone still freaks me out even before I board the elevator.

And always, always remember that if your little guy says he wants to go on the attraction and you are somewhere in the process is getting onto it and he all of a sudden says, "NO!", just tell the seater person that you want to leave and you can. I can't ride the elevator portion of Twilight Zone anymore but I go through with my husband right up until the elevator. Then I leave. You can do the same with any Disney attraction.

Let the little one decide for himself.

There are so many threads asking this exact same question, is this one really necessary? There are three on the first page alone. Is it really that hard to browse around first to see if your question has already been asked? If your kid can handle it than let them ride, if their a little afraid and don't want to ride, go do something else. If your kid meets the height requirements then it is up to you whether you let them ride or not.

My just turned 6 year old rode EE in March with no problems. Once was not enough for my daredevil son. We rode the first time, then he wanted to ride in the front car :scared1: and then rode in the very last car. :cool1:

DS6 hasn't been on TOT. It's scary to him and we have no problem letting him make the decision to ride or not. Maybe one of these days, but until he's ready, we won't push him.

disnut8 --- I do the same thing with my kids when they ride Mission Space (yep, it's my DS6's favorite ride). I'll go all the way to the chicken exit with them. :rotfl2:

My newphue 5 year old rode EE and loved it.

I welcome ALL posts, even if there is a duplicate post just three posts below. I hope people keep posting any question that they have. Different people may open one post and not the other and different people may have different expiriences to report. I personally don't like the search feature, I think it stagnates the board.

That being said, I think you should follow your five year olds lead. Our five year old very much wanted to go on TOT so we let her. When she came off she said she never wanted to go on it again. I said that was fine too. We would never have forced her to begin with, we just let her do something she wanted to do on her own in the first place. She will be seven during our next trip and she is talking about wanted to do TOT again.

Thanks for all your help. I think he will let me know what he wants to do, he does enough of that already. :rotfl: Sorry Zeppo, I'll look before I post next time. :confused3

My DD rode ToT for the first time when she was *almost* 4 and LOVED it...it is still her favorite ride. She rode EE this past May and loved it too. :thumbsup2
I guess you just have to make that judgement call on a child by child basis.
