My DD is a very young 5 and very petite. I am wondering how well she would fit in the 5-7 age range. She is just starting to get interested in drawing and experiments. but she loves to play dress up and "mothers" little kids. Does DCL ever allow kids to go down in groups ( to the 3-4 range)? It is only a 3 night, so I am wondering if I should just keep her at the 5 year olds and hope for the best? She is usually very social. Do they play dress up in the 5-7 age groups?

They do play dress up. At night the 3-4 and 5-7 are together anyway. Seems dress up or watching a movie is all they do at night.

Thats all I can help you with.

I would request for her to stay mostly with the 3-4 year olds. She is still in pre-school and alot of the other kids [5-7] will be in elementary school. She may do better in an area where she feels that she can be a leader rather than feeling overwhelmed by kids older than her --- especially if she is on the shy side.

Just so you know...both the 3-4s and the 5-7s are in the Oceaneers' Club, so your DD will be in the club no matter which option you choose.

The 8-9's and the 10-12's are in the Oceaneers' Lab. All groups will spend some time in the other room (eg. The 10-12s spent a bit of time in the Club and the 5-7s spent a bit of time in the Lab) but the two younger groups spend more time in the Club side.
