5 * ratings on cell phones that freeze??

I am looking at getting a new cell from AT&T. I am shocked at how many have 4 1/2 or 5 star ratings but when you read the reviews, they say their phones freeze up multiple times a day. They usually add, "it is the best phone ever." What? How can it be such a great phone if you have to power it off 6 to 10 times a day because it has frozen? And by the way, why do these phones freeze so much? I am looking at 8 different phones and the *great* reviews all say they freeze. My old phone has never done that.

I have noticed this also. I am due for an upgrade and have been reading lots of reviews to help me make a good decision. I swear, I've put more thought into this than my last car My assumption was that most of the reviews seem to be written my teenagers or very young adults. I may be wrong but there is a certain tone to the writing. I had the impression that even though the phones had certain technical glitches, they were willing to overlook that in favor of other things. Their priorities on what made a good phone are clearly different than mine.

My phone only "freaks out" when i web browse too much. Usually on the Dis too... Apprently the RAM memory is small, so after loading soo many pages with every one's avatars and stuff, I have to turn it off and back on. If I keep my browsing down, I don't ever have to turn it off. But it takes a good 1/2hr or so of constant browsing to get to my limit. But I've never had it actually freeze on me, it just stops loading the full pages and pics.

What is it you're looking for your phone to do?
