Can the Grand Californian Studio accomodate 5? Can a rollaway be brought in?

You will find fold out chairs in the 1 bedroom units, which do accommodate 5.

Not correct. VGC has fold-down Murphy style beds underneath the living room television, that are the fifth sleeping accommodation. There is a little room between this and the sofa bed to walk, but with both beds open it is a very crowded room. Fine for three kids; much less ideal for three adults IMO.

OKW, AKV, and BLT do have the chairs.

VGF and Aulani have the Murphy beds.

VGC has the fold down in a 1 bedroom, not in a studio.

They do not offer rollaways but you can call down and request a sleeping bag & sleeping pad. My little ones didn't like sharing a bed so one would sleep on the floor and the other on the pull out couch. It made our trip much more peaceful!

But I don't think they will be able to book 5 people in a studio unless one is under 3.

This is correct. The DVC site won't let you book the room with this number of guests unless one is under three.

And if you were to "sneak one in" as some members doubtlessly do, that person wouldn't have a room key-and thus wouldn't be eligible for extra magic hours-which IMO is the most important reason to stay on property in Anaheim.

So don't put five in a studio. It isn't allowed, and the mouse will make you regret it if you ignore the guideline. Spend the points for the one bedroom.

They also aren't supposed to provide any "additional bedding" - sometimes they will - either they break their own policy knowingly, or - especially at the hotel attached resorts - the staff really doesn't differentiate and doesn't know what is functionally kind of an obscure rule. So you can never count on a pad, rollaway, airmattress or getting an extra blanket, pillow or sheet (although I think extra pillows and blankets are easy since they'll provide those for existing beds). If you need extra bedding (NOT to get around occupancy, but because your two kids won't share a bed), you are best off bringing it.

The only studio that sleeps five is Grand Floridian. The rest only sleep four plus one UNDER three. DVC is strict on this occupancy rule.
