Will be staying at the AKL for 5 nights at the end of July. Dw has informed me that she has asked her neice to join us and our 2 DD's age 11 and 9, I quess she's thinking about a built in babysitter not thinking that the room was for 4. Don't start yelling and screaming at me but what are the problems and what experiences have anyone had.

AKL and WL have the smallest deluxe rooms on the WDW property. Bedding at these resorts are 1 king or 2 queens or 1 queen and a bunk bed. It would be pretty tight to squeeze in a cot. That's even if they will allow one.

I do believe AKL has jr suites or deluxe rooms that include a daybed.

Any other posters??

You can get a deluxe room there that will have one queen, bunk beds and a day bed. No cots are available and you need to get something for 5 so you can have ID for each person. You will need the ID for Early Entry, etc.

can you switch to the Cont (if should be around the same cost ) - it has 2 queen beds and a day bed (twin size)?

but only if your niece agrees to come.

also remember the extra charge WDW will put on any of their rooms for more than 2 adults.

This may not even be a possibility but with some of the current discounts, have you looked into staying at the POLY?

The rooms are MUCH bigger and I think hold 5 (Poly vets correct me if I'm wrong!) We went Poly Conc. in May and our room had 2 queens and a day bed. It was very large. May be true of most of the Poly rooms?

Just a thought...Whatever you decide, hope it is a magical trip:thewave:

Most of the deluxe resorts will accommodate 5. 2 queen beds and a daybed. AKL and WL are the exception, they're a bit smaller and you'd need the jr.suite or whatever it's called.

Other than that the options are 2 rooms at a value or moderate and get them connecting or adjoining.

POR in the AB section will accommodate 5 in one room with 2 double beds and a trundle bed option.

FW cabins will accommodate 6 and will have a kitchen and separate bdrm.

Or the DVC resorts in a 2 bdrm villa.

If you don't want to move though and want to stay at AKL, I think you'll need to look into the jr.suite.

Best of luck:wave:

The deluxe savanna bunk room has 1 queen, a bunk, and a daybed.

Most of the other deluxe resorts have 2 queens and a daybed in the standard rooms.

POR will sleep a fifth child (under 9) with a trundle bed.

This may be because my kids were so young, but they let us have 5 at ALMo in Feb. I think they changed an extra $10/night. We had my DMIL and DS share a bed, DH & I in another and DD in Pack n play. It was cramped, but it worked and as MIL was only with us 2 nights it made sense. I think they would probably let you add another person with an extra charge, you just might not be as comfortable. Then again, how much time will you be spending in you room? If your like us you will just crash and shower there.

All of the resorts will fit 5 if the 5th person is a child under age 3 and can sleep in the pak-n-play crib. As for if all 5 people are adults though, the options are as I posted above;)
