5 hours to waste before boarding plane in orlando, have car, any suggestions?

we usually have an AP (WDW or U) so we sneak in a few rides;)

imo, U is better option/closer to airport:thumbsup2

i've been told gatorworld is a good idea too 1/2 day will cover touring it

AirTran has changed our reservations again and we decided we did not want to have to hurry to make an 11:19 flight. We now have a 5:05 flight so we have some time to spare before we have to be at the airport. We have a rental car for the day so does anyone have suggestions for where to spend our extra 5 hours. Our travel party includes myself, DH and two DS's ages 5 and 3. Thanks!!!

Downtown Disney is where we went. We actually went on a quick timeshare presentation, got $75 in Disney Gift Cards and then let the kids spend them on pins and trade with some of the sharks.....perfect amount of time.

Just make sure you allow enough airport time! We travel with Southwest usually and it takes about 2 hours to go thorough the queue, then load the luggage in the scanner machine and then stand in security. We always think we'll have time for lunch before our flight at the Chili's restaurant but the last 4 or 5 flights has not worked out that way!

I agree that Downtown disney is the way to go. You can have lunch, check out Lego store and get some souvenirs before heading back:)

Not far from the port you can stop by Lone Cabbage Fish Camp and go for an airboat ride

Or zip down 95 about 10 miles to exit 191 and you'll find Brevard Zoo

A nice little zoo where you can hand feed some of the animals
stop by and say Hi...I drive the train....
The zoo sits immediately off 95...easy on off.

Many folks will swing by Ron Jon's on A1A

I am in the same 3/4 day situation. My 8 and 12 year olds are begging for Disney Quest at DTD. I think I would enjoy it there as well but my wife would be board to death. Anybody been there?

You might want to look into the Orlando Science Center or the Museum of Art if that's something your family might enjoy. Both the Science Center and Museum of Art are right next to each other.
