5 Days, 4 Parks, 3 DIS-meets, 2 ADR’s, and 1 Solo DISer! Done! Finished! Completed!!

Take your time! Glad your back.

Danica is sooo cute!
Thanks Jordan. I have to find your new TR...I assume there is one out there with at least 200 pages already!

Yeay, you're back! I have missed you, too! Danica and Liam are as precious as ever! Good luck with Liam's appointment! The addition is coming along quite nicely! :goodvibes

Thanks Jackie! I think I get back into my TR at the part where I meet you and Charles :thumbsup2

Glad to have you back! The kiddos are sooo cute!! DD1 is jealous that Danica is 2 months younger than her and about to start walking. She is nowhere close!

I know how stressed you must be over Liam's communication issues and the upcoming appointment with the specialist. We have been to countless evaluations over the past year with DS2, and I was super anxious for every single one of them. You will feel so much better once everything is over and you know for sure what's going on so you can make a plan. If you ever need to talk, I'm here!

Looks like the remodel is coming along nicely!

Looking forward to TR updates!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement about Liam. You are so right about making a plan!

Hey There!!

I can totally understand your wanting to get those updates written up!

yeah, stress... our son has some MAJOR speech issues, and I TOTALLY know and understand your stress level. We too, went through the whole gammut of specialists and evals. It was horrible! I feel your pain. Hope you do better at getting an answer than we got.

congrats on the addition! Looking great to far. I understand that too. We completely finished our basement 800 sq. ft. and it was HARD work!! But oh so worth it!!!

Hopefully I won't have the knot in my stomach before this new eval. like I did for the pre-school meeting (which by the way ended up going really well).

I have to get over to your PTR#2 soon....I have no idea if you are moving, moving your trip dates, etc!

Glad to see you back. Happy to hear that everyone is okay. The kids are getting so big!!

Glad to be back !

Day 3. I had been at AK all day, then went back to the resort to chill and then headed to Epcot because I had a 7pm DIS-meet with Charleston Princess and TarzanaKat.

Well I have no idea what time I actually got to Epcot and I have no idea what I did before dinner. I have no receipt and no pictures but I know I had fish and chips from the UK shop because I remember eating them in the doorway of a “fake” house across the street. There was no a table or seat to be had anywhere.

Let me just say this about the Food and Wine Festival…..GO MIDWEEK! I purposely flew in early on Wednesday so I could go to the F&W fest booths and such and I was so happy that I did. The crowds in World Showcase on Friday night were THICK!

I think I had these before my fish and chips….Ham Croquettes from the Puerto Rico booth. They were fine but they reminded me of something you’d great at a bar at happy hour.

Next stop France…..

Hello Friend!

100409337.jpg

I believe the Grey Goose Slushie may be the cure all for World Showcase meltdowns and mishaps.

With slushie in hand I headed to the bridge between France and UK to meet Jackie and Charles and the TK clan. Jackie and her DH were easy to spot and we start chatting right away while we waited for TK (who was a bit behind schedule). Jackie and Charles are super friendly people and if you never get a chance of a DIS-meet with them, do it!

Once TK and clan arrived we headed back to France where I got another one of these:
100409337.jpg

TK asked if we could walk towards Mexico and we all agreed that would be a great way to chat and hang-out together. The crowds were getting really thick with people so I suggested that we turn around and walk via the Future World side of the lagoon to get to Mexico because it would be an easier walk with the crowds. Little did they know that I was plotting to go by the Puerto Rico booth to get my hands on one of these babies!

The much loved Dragonberry Coloada! I know that Charles got one too and I think Jackie. Sooooo good. They should sell them year round.

We pretty much just walked around WS together until it was time for Illuminations which we watched in Italy. It wasn’t a bad view and the company was wonderful.

100409344.jpg

After the show Jackie and Charles headed out and I slowly walked out with TK and her family. When we reached the bus stop I saw the line for the ASMusic resort and decided to use some of my taxi money to get me “home” – I don’t remember how much it was actually (under $20 w/tip) but it was well worth it. I was getting a chicken tender/fries snack by 10:08pm at the food court at the resort.

A little side note about trip planning: I think it’s a really good idea to have a taxi budget, solo or with the family. It makes getting from resort to resort quick and easy. And taking one at the end of a long night back to your room just makes everything so more relaxing. Disney bus transportation is good in the morning, pretty good mid-day to and from the parks, but for resort to resort travel and from DTD to your resort can be less than magical.

Next Up Day 4

I am definitely going to have to try the infamous Dragonberry Colada in October. I love how you were really enjoying the cocktails around the world! :lmao:

Sounds like a great time getting to meet CP and TK. I'm terribly jealous! :)

Looks like you had a chance to enjoy the adult things at Epcot! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great DIS-meet too!

I had a wonderful time hanging out with you, Jackie, and Charles that night. Watching Illuminations with people I consider to be dear friends, regardless of the fact that we all met in an unlikely way (through an internet forum), is something I'll treasure and one of my favorite moments from that trip.

P.S. We also used some taxi money that, night. ;)

:worship::worship::worship: I love Grey Goose Slushies!!

Sounds like you had a great meet, I love meeting people from the boards, it is so much fun!

Welcome back, the kids are so cute. I never really thought of bringing money set aside for taxis, but now I will. Thanks for the tip.

I loved, loved, loved our DIS meet! We had so much fun with TK and you, Heidi! We MUST do it again someday!

Yes, I did get a Dragonberry Colada with you and Charles! I didn't even see you take a picture of yours, but that was probably because I was too busy sucking mine down! ;)

just found your tr tonight and thanks to the links found it very enjoyable. Your pics are great. I loved my solo trip in 2008.
Looks like many good times.
Looking forward to reading more.

Another great EPCOT day!! And even better with not 1, but 2 nommy looking slushie cups of goodness! And if that's wasn't the cat's meow, you got to meet one of my favorite DISers, TK!! Suh-weet!

heads up... yes, we're moving, yes, we've moved our dates, but only a teensy, teensy bit, and yes, we're still playing games.

I really hope there keep the Dragonberry from year to year....actually I want a Dragonberry machine in my house.

We are going to have to try to all get together at WDW soon!

Epcot is better with a cocktail in your hand I think!

Tracy one day we will have to have a GG Slushie together!

Welcome back, the kids are so cute. I never really thought of bringing money set aside for taxis, but now I will. Thanks for the tip.

I keep my taxi money in a little envelop and keep it in my park bag with me at all times. It came in REAL handy later in the trip.

:yay::yay: for dismeets:
hug:

I just wanted to say I am really enjoying your TR! I read your last one immensely so I knew I would be along for the ride on this one as well. :thumbsup2

TFS pictures of your children and remodel!

Dinner would be awesome!

And yes, I took one look at those busses and thought, uh unh. I had totally planned to pay for it myself, but my FIL footed the bill, bless the man. :goodvibes

Thank you! Amazing how two trips to Disney can be so different huh?

So worth it!

Heidi,

I'll have more info about 2012 tonight.

Please let there be a link! I can't find anything without a link :lmao:

Day 4 Saturday October 3, 2009

The next morning started with my favorite food court breakfast, an egg, cheese and bacon croissant sandwich.

100409345.jpg

I was at DHS early and got to watch the opening show really close to the rope.

Even with being that close to the front, the masses of people booked it to Toy Story Mania. Thanks, but I’ll walk. I grabbed a FP for later and checked out the stand-by line. It was long already and I knew I could get so much more done it if I did something else. So off to Sunset Blvd. to ride RNRC and TOT.

100409352.jpg

100409353.jpg

100409354.jpg

100409355.jpg

First up was RNRC. Walk-on. Now it’s been years since I’ve been on it but it seemed different. There was no music playing during the ride, just while we were waiting to “take-off”. The woman seated next to me thought it was wrong too and asked the snarkiest CM at the end of the ride if the music should have been playing during the ride. The answer we got was NO, the music all plays before the ride starts. Does anyone know if this is correct? Or did we have a malfunction with the music that morning?

Disney had set-up this kid station in the plaza in front of RNRC. I thought that was a nice idea for the kids that can’t ride.

100409357.jpg

Tower of Terror how I have missed you!

100409361.jpg

After all that I needed a snack from the Starring Rolls Café.

100409362.jpg

In the morning you can sit on the patio of the Brown Derby to eat, which is really nice under an umbrella. And that’s just what I did. While there I got treated to a Grandmother ignore her 2 grandkids while she talking on the phone. When the little boy (about 4yo) got really antsy because he was bored, I got to hear this gem “I’m going to turn your bum to jelly if you don’t sit still”. I may have not said anything when I walked by to leave, but believe me when I tell you that woman knew what I thought of her and her little comment.

I then saw the Little Mermaid show. Holy toddlers! The waiting room looked like a pre-school, but they were all well behaved and we all enjoyed the show.

I'm pretty sure that the CM was wrong. I can swear I can remember the music through the whole ride. It starts just as your about to take off, and then it sounds like a radio station through the entire thing.

I think that may be the only kidcot station I've never noticed. Back on our family 2006 trip I spent an awful lot of time at those things with my youngest niece while the rest of the family rode the rides. The Soarin one in particular. At least on the last trip she was big enough for most rides.

I'm always a bit horrified with how some people act with their kids/grandkids at Disney. Especially when the kids aren't even acting badly. Their kids for petes sake. Put the stupid phone down already your in Disney!

Isn't the Sunset Blvd. area delightful first thing in the morning now that everyone is running to Pixar Place! Looks like you had a bright sunny day, too.

Next trip I really must catch that opening show... it looks like fun!

You were right, music does play in your limo on R&RC... the speakers are on either side of the headrests.

Mmmm... Starring Rolls! :cloud9:
