5 Days, 4 Parks, 3 DIS-meets, 2 ADR’s, and 1 Solo DISer! Done! Finished! Completed!!

Last Day….Sunday October 4, 2009

When I woke up that morning I knew how I wanted to spend my time until my ME bus picked me up at 3pm. And it looked nothing like what I had planned. You know those 2 ADR’s in my title? Those were both for today and thrown out the window. My plans had involved going to either AK or MK or both. But I felt like 3B’s….Breakfast, Beach, Book. Ahhhhh…..a day to truly relax.

I got going a little late this morning between packing up my room and dropping off my luggage with bell services (which by the way….tell they if you have fragile things, or valuable things in your bags, they will lock them up in the “cage” for you).

My new 3B plan was to head to the deluxe monorail resorts so I took a bus to MK. I hadn’t really gotten a boat ride yet so I decided to travel by boat to ……. the Poly! I obviously hadn’t had my coffee yet that morning because I thought I would try to get a table at ‘Ohanas’ at 1015am with no ADR. That was more then a little dumb. More on that later.

As I waited for my boat I chatted on the phone with DH….I was missing my hubby!

After stopping at the Grand Floridian boat dock we headed to the Poly. In hind sight I should have gotten off at the GF.

It was 1015am and the line for the ‘Ohanas’ breakfast was a mile long…they stop seating at 1100am and I didn’t think I would make it to the front of the line until 11! It was just a dumb move on my part to try to eat there without an ADR.

Now What????

I think your plan for the day sounds great... I just hope you can get the first 'B' taken care of!! popcorn::

:confused3 UH ROH... (that's Scrappie-Do talking )

what ADR's did you cancel?

did you get the cute towel cake in your room?

good cliffhanger...but please tell us more!

Tonga Toast at Captain Cooks................

Most likely GF was your destination, never a bad choice.

I love taking the boats when at Disney. I love taking them when I get a chance.

I'm guessing you ended up at Captain Cooks.

Another guess for Kona, Heidi. I wouldn't have thought you'd have had a problem getting in at 'Ohana! :confused3

I loved all your pictures. It is great that you could throw out your plans and just do whatever.

I know! After 10am is really late for me not to have had breakfast yet!!

I had an 8am ADR for the Tusker House breakfast at AK and a lunch ADR for the Plaza at MK

Yes that little towel cake was in my room when I got back the night before.

(And BOO! for the last day!)

Kathy

It's been 6 months since the trip and the trip was only 5 days long...time to wrap this puppy up!!

Did you decide to head to Captain Cook's? Or did you head back to the Grand Floridian? Hmmmm...

Yes and Yes. :rolleyes1

Tonga Toast is the better deal at Capt Cooks, then Kona....but maybe GF would be more relaxing :rolleyes1

I sure did take a lot of boat rides that day.... :rolleyes1

I don't think you can get into 'Ohana's at any point now without an ADR.

I loved all your pictures. It is great that you could throw out your plans and just do whatever.
It was....and I have great memories of this day.

Your solo touring sounds much like mine was...relax, relax, relax.......

And it gets better!

The 3 Bs on the last day sound lovely :cloud9:
I'm guessing you tried Kona.

I think if I would have set out later for my day it would have been slightly different B's....beach, book, booze!

No Kona.

Did you head to Kona? I hope that you get your beach/book time in!

I think I might have.......

The Grand Floridian Café is always my back-up plan when in the MK area because you can usually get a table with no ADR and very little wait. So on the Monorail I went to the Grand Flo.

I was seated within minutes and had a fabulous breakfast…one I hope to get again sometime soon. Filets, egg frittata, breakfast potatoes and the most delish creamy sauce for the steak.

And here is where I spent most of the rest of my day. Sitting on the beach reading my book. I had the place to myself. It was a wonderful way to end my getaway to Disney!

About 1pm I went inside to do a little shopping as I was still looking for that Stitch plushie…and lo and behold I found it at M. Mouse Mercantile of all places!

Here’s some of the new marble tile that they were working on last fall. Very cool.

With time ticking away before my ME bus departed, I once again got on the boat heading to the Poly…..I had one more thing I had to do while I was in Disney.

Hello my Sweet!
100409574.jpg

You gotta love self-serve Dole Whip!! Only $3.00 for that baby. I enjoyed it in the pretty lobby as Captain Cooks has a tiny seating area
.
100409575.jpg

It was now 2pm and my bus left from Music at 255pm….I was a little pressed for time so I decided to grab a taxi from the Poly to AS Music. $18 (w/tip) and plenty of time to spare I was sitting outside waiting for my bus back to the real world.

I'm not quite done yet....I have shopping pictures to share, a mini life update and some final thoughts....all coming up in the next week or so ~Heidi

I'm sorry to see your trip come to an end... but it looks like you found a great way to spend the last day. :thumbsup2

Breakfast at the GFC, reading on the beach, finding your Stitch plushie, and enjoying one last Dole Whip truly sounds like a wonderful way to end your vacation!

Looking forward to all the shopping pics!

I've loved adventuring with you, Heidi! You've shared some great pictures, told fun stories, and all of it- solo! :thumbsup2

So glad you got to enjoy some quiet moments on the beach just relaxing! Nice way to pamper yourself at the end!

Looking forward to the last few installments.

That's exactly the hammock I claimed out on my trip. What a wonderful way to spend your vacation.

I can't believe the trip is over already. I've really enjoyed hearing about your solo trip. Now I just need to squeeze one in for myself.
