5 Days, 4 Parks, 3 DIS-meets, 2 ADR’s, and 1 Solo DISer! Done! Finished! Completed!!

that chicken looks good and the onion rings dipped in bbq sauce mmm...

the views from Flame Tree BBQ...just magical. Was it crowded in the seating areas? That can make it even more magical.....

I've started part 2 of my PTR....yes, part 2.

Hi! The baby is so active now it's hard to get a chance to DIS. Your report is one that I have to get caught up on....please tell me there are links!?! I did catch up with your blog the other night.....LOVE the quilt on the title!

I know exactly what you mean. I've had an incredibly busy holiday season, and with DH being off work for 2 weeks, I just don't get as much computer time.

YES!! there are links!! The first post has chapter links as well as links to the 2nd and 3rd posts with Chapter links. Should be easy to hit the meat if you want to skip the chatter, which I admit there is quite a lot of.

Anyhow, I'm really looking forward to hitting all 3 trails at AK next time. The animals look so interesting to watch, and of course, the theming looks so fun!

FTBBQ is great! I love the food there, but I"m thinking I may switch to Y&Y next trip. It's been getting great reviews lately. The seating around FT is so peaceful and pretty; my only complaint would be that there aren't any drinking fountains anywhere nearby to get a refill into your cups from.

I'm so glad you got to ride EE, I know you were really looking forward to that. I love the pictures you took in the queue.

There is tons of seating behind Flame Tree, it can be really beautiful back there.

Great gorilla pictures!

I decided it was time for lunch and wanted to try Flame Tree for the first time.

Since I had never eaten there before I didn’t realize how much seating was back there….and how beautiful it was.

I agree... I love the outdoor seating at Flame Tree! So nice to try in October when the weather isn't so humid.

And I'm with you on those beans... yuck-o! :crazy2:

Kathy

Flame Tree is one of my favorite counter service at all 4 parks...for the difference/variety/quality of the food and the attractiveness of the seating...:goodvibes (I just split the rib meal with DD...I think I'm the only one that eats those beans...:lmao:)

Good for you that you got to spend some time on Pangani Trail...That and the Tiger trail are two of my favorite things in the park...but sometimes it feels that everyone is in such a rush to hit the rides that they overlook these special places...we did the Tiger trail our last trip but next time we have to go through Pangani...:thumbsup2

Love all your pictures. My dd loved all your gorilla pictures. Looking forward to the next update, when you have time of course.

Animal Kingdom touring continued…

During the planning of my trip my favorite Disney blogger Jack Spence at AllEars wrote this great article about Dinoland:

Click here for the blog entry.

So this trip I decided to try to explore all those things that I had read about this section of the park. I’m just going to share the pictures…

great pix!

Thanks for the link. Very interesting and cool. I wish the Imagineers would let us in on more of the backstory for attractions. It would make everyone appreciate WDW that much more.

I'm glad you had the time to explore and enjoy...I think I'll be taking your lead next month.

That is an amazing blog. I should have known there was an incredible back story to that section of the park, but I just took it for granted. I guess I was never as bothered by it as some, so it didn't phase me.

I'm so grateful you posted that link, because now I can notice all those details the next time I go. Amazing!

And great photos, as usual, Heidi. :thumbsup2

I've always enjoyed browsing around that quirky little store!
Jack Spence is awesome...

"It's a girl!" :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Great update Heidi!! I love that blog!! I had never read it before tonight, but now will read it on a regular basis. I'm even more excited to go back to Dinoland now!!

Great photos and fun blog! I always get a kick out of the Dinoco.

:thumbsup2

How fun to just snap and stroll!

I've read Jack Spence for a while now, and love every post that comes up!! So much detail!!

Glad to see you back around, I think it's been awhile since I've seen you Heidi!! :yay:

Wow...that was a great article and it gave me a whole new appreciation for Dinoland...

I always thought it was cute and retro but had no idea about the whole story behind it...it really adds to it know all of that...

Now that is one of the really nice things about taking a solo trip...being able to take the time to really check out those details without getting antsy to catch the next ride...or buy something...etc...:lmao:

I love the Dinoland pics. There are so many cool little details that I never really noticed before. I can't wait for my next trip to really pay attention.

Ok I had to google it.

Nyani - seems just to be a south African name (person/place)
Falls - English meaning Falls
shule - Swahili for school
ya hifadhi - (seems that Disney spelled it wrong on the crate) Swahili for reserve
ya wayama - Swahili for animals

That part of the park is suppose to be in Tanzania and Swahili is a language spoken in TZ so it makes sense

thanks for the info...:thumbsup2 I don't know why I didn't think to google it.

I have saved the link to the BLOG I know Michael will love to read that before we leave and thanks for the great photo essay of the fun quirky things here. I had a fun time picturing these things in my mind after reading about this area in my Hidden Magic book, now I know what to look for.
