I woke up at 6.30 this morning so excited after a whole year of planning and organising it had finally arrived today we would be checking into Animal Kingdom lodge, I hoped everyone would like the resort as it had been my choice.

we packed up and headed to Ponderosa for Breakfast, then we popped into Publix on the 192 for a few supplies Juice, cereal, swimming goggles, cookies and some cheetos and lays.

we didnt go to Animal Kingdom via sherberth road as we all wanted to drive in under the arch and do the count down:goodvibes

We followed the signs and soon enough we were at Jambo House, I was like a little kid at Christmas. This resort was Beautiful we checked in and our room was ready, no upgrade, but we loved our room as it was so near to everything and it was great watching all the happy people arriving every day we were in room 5007
we had our room keys and in we went this is what was waiting for us

Although the rooms are a little on the small side we loved the theming the net curtains even had amimals on them.

After exploring our room we headed to the Pool, which was fantastic we always found loungers by the flamingoes and not far from the pool bar ;)

We spent some time swimming then headed to check out Mara, loved it here
we bought refillable Mugs and finally got to try Zebra domes. We were not dissapointed although you get a lot for 1snack credit so we shared

We had another quick look around making mental notes for later then headed out to Magic Kingdom. We parked in Donald row 63 (about the only day we paid attention to this oops) and caught the Monorail.

First up our ADR at Crystal palace, we love this place and it didnt disapont as we were starving after all that swimming

after a dinner of salad, beef mash potatoes and veggies and apple cobbler

we left and rode Jungle cruise, Pirates, Big thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion and a quick look around the Christmas shoppe it was time to bag a spot for Disneys electrical Parade. We waited right where it starts by the fire station and sat chatting and laughing.

Now this parade sadly disappointed us I am more a Spectro kind of girl, I dont think it helped that half of it was missing due to technical problems, but the music just does not tug on my heart strings in quite the same way.

We also encountered quite a few rude adults who really should know better than to turn up 5 mins before the parade is due to start and start trying to push in etc but we stood our ground and managed to come away with most of our limbs intact

After the parade Julian grabbed some fries from caseys with his snack credit and we all got a drink then stood on Main street to watch the fireworks, not the best view but didnt matter as we had a dessert party booked later in the holiday. W e enjoyed these but missed wishes.

caught the resort monorail back and drove home To AKL both the boys were tired and we all had a bit of bed melt down somthing we should have sorted before we left for the evening looking back its funny but ending a very long day with bed wars was not at all amusing at the time:eek:

once sorted all settled down and slept like babies (apart from needing the loo what seemed like every 3 minutes, blast those refillable mugs!!!)

( Jordan went to the driving range with friends today )

up next Epcot, Le Cellier and discovering just how much I do like cocktails :goodvibes:goodvibes

A great first day in WDW :yay: We're fans of the Crystal Palace too. Lovely photos, and I can't wait to hear about all these cocktails you're having tomorrow ;)

fab day, gotta watch out for those late-arrivers with elbows that jab.. glad you were able to deal with them . I am liking jordan, ya gon' and raised 'im proper like and all!:goodvibes

Lucky you staying at AKL. Know what you mean about the bed wars....my two have shared a bed the last couple of trips and end up falling out over who's got the most bedding:headache:

Any future trips are going to be two bedrooms especially as they've both shot up to 6 foot :rotfl:

Great photos :yay:

Another lovely day, glad you liked AKL:thumbsup2

Oh my worst WDW hate is people trying to push in on the last minute to watch the parades, especially when youve been sat there for hours:headache::headache:

I'm excited to hear about the cocktails tomorrow - off I go...

We also encountered quite a few rude adults who really should know better than to turn up 5 mins before the parade is due to start and start trying to push in etc but we stood our ground and managed to come away with most of our limbs intact

really enjoying your TR but I gotta tell you I totally get you there...I hate that about Disney...I turn into a ferocious beast when people try to do that to me and then I feel bad because its not even supposed to be like that...we are supposed to be happy and cheerful and these idiots come and bring that side out of us...I basically get to a parade or show or whatever really really early to get good seats and I have learned that once I find my spot I put blankets or bags or something down there and my party all sits all the way across with arms and legs hanging out everywhere so nobody can get in :rotfl2:it stinks that its that way but what else can you do?:confused3

AKL looks nice, must try some of those zebra domes
Well done for holding your spot at the parade. We have also encountered similar bad mannered people, but fortunately, mine can be worse :rolleyes1
Glad you enjoyed CP - it was our first visit this year!

how amazing to stay in Animal Kingdom Lodge, was going to get a night here if I could not get my last night in the Treehouse. Such a great feeling to check in on that first night.

Love your photos

Susan
