so the day had finally arrived, part of me was very excited, the other part of me was terrified as my eldest son had decided he wasnt coming this year:scared1:

For months I thought I had it all sorted my Dad had agreed to come down and keep an eye. 5 days before our Holidays and I recieved a phone call to say this would be no longer happening, I wont go into details but I was furious as it didnt give me much time to make alternative arrangements . I managed to get myself in a right state before our Holidays almost thinking we should cancel, I really did go overboard with worry when there was no need, anyway Nan stepped in and made arrangements to check in with Jordan every few days.

Pete was at work till 4 so Poor Jordan was given so many instructions by me through out the day. Before I knew it it was early evening and we went out for dinner at the local Harvester and then it was time to drop Jordan home and say goodbye. There were quite a few tears but Jordan did make me laugh he gave me a big hug and said "for goodnesss sake Mum I am not going to kill myself, set the house on fire, lose my keys lock myself out or any of the other daft things you,ve been worring about so go and have a fantastic holiday" so at this point Pete and the boys bundled me in the car and we were on our way to the crowne plaza at heathrow.

The Hotel was very nice and we had two rooms the boys quickly made themselves at home

Pete and I settled down and watched some Tv, Jordan sent a text to say I had forgotten my mp3 and not to worry he would be fine so after a very emotional day i drifted of to sleep.

woke up to the Alarm and checked out and headed to terminal 3, through security quickly and our flight to Miami was on time. Had breakfast in the Bridge was ok but expensive. Boarding was on time but then delayed while two passengers were removed from the flight.

Flight was uneventful and we landed on time, Miami immigration took forever and was soo slow but we eventually made it through and we caught the shutle to the car hire. we picked a VW people carrier set the sat nav for the Holiday Inn Miami and we were on our way.

Arrived at the hotel and checked in

we had a lovely time and i finally started to relax as I had called Jordan and he had been out with friends had fish and chips for dinner and was spending the evening plaing on x box live with friends. We ordered Pizza and ate in the room looking at the ocean we had connecting rooms so the boys went into theirs and watched tv and I checked the internet and emails then settled down and went to bed.

up next an early start, south beach and a long drive...

 Oh Rachel, I know exactly how you felt. I think the whole build up to leaving anyone at home is actually worse than when your actually away, and I certainly didn't like having to say 'goodbye'

Anyway, great start hun, and the view from your Miami hotel is lovely

I can't wait to read some more :thumbsup2

Oh what a shame your dad let you down at the lastminute Rachel:headache:

The view from the hotel looks lovely:lovestruc

Really looking forward to hearing more about your trip:thumbsup2

Shame you had so much stress in the build up.

Great start & a great view. :thumbsup2

Glad you managed to relax once you'd spoke to your son. Mines got a place at Uni and leaves next month .....I'm a wreck already :sad1:

At least I have your trippie to cheer me up. Great start, off to read your next day now :goodvibes

awww, leaving the eldest 'home alone' must have been a worry, bet he loved it! fab hotel in miami:thumbsup2

Great start :)

Fab view from the hotel. What better way to start the holiday than with a walk on the beach!!

Great start Rachel, great room by the beach, lovely photos, looking forward to reading more:goodvibes

We have this all to come in a couple of weeks, and I keep thinking of all the extra things we will need to remember, like giving Kirsty money for food!!!

I am hoping it won't spoil our holiday as it will be the first one on our own for 18 years.

Glad to hear that you liked Miami. Looking forward to reading more.

Susan
