We didn't have the best weather on our scheduled visit to Castaway Cay. It was very windy from the tropical storm. about 5:30PM on Castaway Cay day the captain announced that we would be returning to Castaway Cay the next day, instead of spending the day at sea! My husband and I were very happy about that. It was wonderful to have the chance to spend 2 days there!
Also, we had the BEST head waiter ever! Arnold. It was our 25th anniversary and we did not have any one at our table. So we asked our waiter Steve not to bring us a cake, since there was no one else at our table to eat it. But when our anniversay day came, many dining staff came over and sang and brought a beautiful cake! Even though Steve told Arnold we didn't want a cake, Arnold said it was our 25TH ANNIVERSARY!!!! Of course we HAD to have a cake. They made us feel very special. Since we have no family to celebrate with at home it was the only celebration we had. Arnold made sure it was special and he didn't even know how special it really was to us.
Also Arnold introduced us to the pastry chef that made our cake. Arnold also went WAY out of his way on our last day to get us a special dessert that we had talked about the night before.
I was very disappointed that Disney did not have a live band. I had made up my mind that I would not sail with Disney again because the band adds so much to the cruise.
But if anything might have opened my mind to considering another Disney cruise it was Arnold! We have been on 15 cruises and he was the BEST head waiter ever!
Also, my husband was very impressed that the captain took us back to Castaway Cay.
