Maybe I missed this so if it was talked about earlier - sorry to duplicate. Saw this on DCL site:

Take part in a very special opportunity to meet, greet and learn from famed Disney illustrator Don "Ducky" Williams during select cruises in 2010. Renowned for his illustrations of Disney's most beloved characters, Don Williams has made a name for himself at The Walt Disney Company for over 30 years as an illustrator of books, lithographs, magazine ads and commercials.

During select sailings in 2010, Don "Ducky" Williams will be offering a series of exclusive seminars and workshops—including a one-of-a-kind cell-painting workshop—that will shed light on the creative process of character illustration and animation at The Walt Disney Company. You can even sit down with Don as he sketches your favorite Disney character!

Don "Ducky" Williams Cruises include:

4-Night Bahamian Cruise (March 7, 2010 sailing only)
14-Night Eastbound Transatlantic Cruise (April 10, 2010 sailing only)
5-Night Bahamian Cruise (May 30, 2010 sailing only)
14-Night Westbound Transatlantic Cruise (September 18, 2010 sailing only)
11-Night Southern Caribbean Holiday Cruise (December 18, 2010 sailing only)
7-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise (December 30, 2010 sailing only)

Dates are subject without notice.

This is SO COOL! I've heard about him and always wondered if I would be able to be on the same cruise with Don "Ducky" Williams. I am definately going to make time to attend his workshops or seminars. Thanks for the info. :woohoo:

THANKS for posting this!! What GREAT news!

okay !! I am going to try the FE thing.
I think DS will enjoy getting little "treats and trinkets" !!:woohoo:

So it is minnie4me (Michele) / DH / DS (age 7).

I now have a solid month to come up with some good gift ideas, wish me luck !!

That's a good idea. I hadn't thought of patriotic gifts, but I've got a few pirate goodies lined up already!

We need a couple more participants....

Anyone?

I don't know what this is. Can someone explain to me? We are always looking for more ways to have fun but what does it entail?:confused3

FE is short for Fish Extender. This will be my first cruise, so I'm definately not the person to explain this whole process, but there are a lot of threads about them on this site. Basically the people who participate leave little gifts for each other in this pocketed thing you hang on a "fish" decoration outside your stateroom. I'm sure someone else can explain it much better than this or you can search the main DCL forum for more information and lots of pictures.

:woohoo:count us in also, I was so hoping that we would do this as I bought a really neat FE off of ebay over a year ago when we booked this cruise. There are lots of threads with suggestions on here for gifts.

Yay, our list is growing. :yay: Should we post our stateroom numbers here, or do you want to do this by private message?

If you need info. on FE, you can visit the DIS DCL FAQ thread. Once you get into the FAQ page, scroll down until you see Fish Extenders and then you can click on some links that will give you some info. on it. Hope this helps.

Well I don't have a room number yet so I'm not much help. Is there a way that it is usually done?

You can just let us know the number when you get it. Then, I can post your room number right next to your name on the FE list.

Some people don't like having their room number posted on the boards and I didn't know how people felt about having their room number posted for others to see. I don't have a problem with posting my room number but I didn't want to upset anyone by posting theirs on the board.

Hello,
Sorry to have been absent from the boards! DH and I bought a new house :banana::banana: a few weeks ago and boy have we been busy! We make settlement June 7th (yes, thats right-3 days after our cruise YIKES!!)
We were planning on going to WDW after the cruise but it seems we will be busy doing other stuff! :woohoo:
The sellers wanted to make settlement May 28th  & we had to BEG them to push it back. We are leaving for Florida early Sat morning on the 29th!

Anyway, count Chris and I in on the Fish Extender gift exchange. On our last cruise, we had about 30 participating staterooms and it was alot of fun delivering our gifts (and getting them, too). We were each assigned a day, that way we weren't running all over the ship everyday of the cruise. It worked out well.

I don't mind posting my stateroom. We are in Room 6088.

We had a DIS meet on the 1st day around 3pm by one of the pools and it lasted around 45 minutes. It was nice to meet everyone and that was when we got the list of FE participants with everyone's staterooms.

One more idea-there should be a cutoff date for joining the FE exchange. You will need to know how many gifts to buy and a cutoff date will give you plenty of time to get your gifts together!

Besides doing the FE exchange, is anyone going to decorate their stateroom door??

I love decorating our door. I need to get cracking on making mine for this cruise. We leave in less than 2 months! Yikes!
Here was our door on our last cruise:

EDIT: You can see my fish extender. ***Make sure you fasten it to the fish otherwise it may "swim" away***

Congratulations on the new house! :cheer2:
I added you to the FE list.
I was wondering when/where we might be able to meet up. Does meeting by the pool around 3 pm sound okay to everyone? When should the cut/off date be for signing up for the FE list? I'm thinking 2 or 3 weeks before the cruise??? Is that too much time/too little time.....???? I am clueless here........:confused3
I am most definately decorating my door. It makes it sooo easy to find our room.
Okay, getting a little more excited now............:cool1:

Hi All!

My 3rd Disney Cruise and my first time hearing this! I would love to participate in the FE also. I am going w/my four girl friends for a Disney Chix cruise!

7DwarfsFanNY (Me, along with Roz, Judy,Paula, and Lynne who have no clue about this at all and it will be a fun surprise!!)

But, first have to make my FE! Project for the weekend!

Mary Jo:dance3::cool1::cheer2:

Oh we are in Stateroom 8550

Yeah!! I'm so excited we decided to do the fish extenders! Count us in, myself (34), DH (35), DS (5), and DS (3). I've never done this before, but it looks like so much fun!! Count us in! We are a stateroom guarantee, so I don't know when I will get my room number, does anyone know?? Meeting at the pool sounds great. I think letting each other know the staterooms through private message would be ideal since some may not be able to meet by the pool, but still want to gift. Any thoughts? Also, I agree on a cutoff date, I am fine with two weeks before.

Tara
