5/30/2010-5 Night Disney Wonder Memorial Day Double Dip! Roster-Post 626 on page 42

Christopher, I will probably have the fabric one 80% done this weekend. I will also try to get you a clean sketch. I was lucky to retire early (45) so I have time on my hands.

Tami you are so creative! I love the double dip!
Memorial day 2010 wonder double dip?
May 2010 double dip on the wonder trip?
Startin' our summer on the double dip wonder?

I am at the daycare and posting from colton's iPod during naptime! I'll try to come up with more later!

Thanks again for doing this!

Well, the sun is back here in Denver so the snow is melting despite temps in the 30's. We ended up with about 10 to 12 inches at our house. And the kids are supposed to be having baseball practice this weekend. :confused3 I guess that's Spring in Colorado.

Here's today's CC Picture -- Cookie's BBQ:

Yesterday it was in the 80s today the 20s and snowing. However, with 30-40mph winds the snow doesn't stay around long.

I took Tami's excellent sketch of Captain Mickey holding the Double Dip ice cream cone and worked on a banner design today. If you like it, feel free to use it in your signature. I've copied a full size and smaller sizes that anyone can use.

THANKS TO TAMI AND CHISTOPHER FOR MAKING OUR MEMORIAL DAY DOUBLE DIP BANNER!!! :cool1:

Looks awesome. I'm going to save it now in iPhoto and I'll use that image for a door magnet. Next May seems SO far away!

Banner Update: I added to it last night with the DCL logo. I have a template with no words on it in case anyone has any better suggestions on wording. I can also blend in my poor cut/paste job on the logo to get rid of the straight lines.

Thanks!

Today's CC Picture: What's your favorite beverage while on CC? Mine is actually a BBC and not the Conch Cooler.

I have always cruises in the fall because I love the really warm waters. However some friends of ours are on this cruise. So here is the question. What is the water tempature expected to be on Castaway? Does anyone on this thread know if it will be at or above 75 degrees?

Love castaway but want to be in the water. Please help. Thanks

I notice from your signature that you're from Kansas City. Are your friends on this cruise also from KC? I lived near KC for most of my life-- have been in Denver for two years now.

I've only been to CC in August or September, but did some searches on it this morning.

According to this website, the water temperature should be around 80 in early June, about 5 degrees cooler than going in September.

However, as CC's waters are relatively shallow, I would think near the island the water would be warmer -- similar to this website.

http://www.discover-eleuthera-bahamas.com/bahamas-climate.html

I also found this Rutgers NOAA surface temp website. CC is at 26°05′N, 77°32′W. If I'm reading this correctly, it looks like water temps on June 2, 2008 were in the low 80's.

Thanks so much for this information. It sounds promising. Our friends live in the North east part of the country. I will need to decide what we are going to do soon. I may be back.

I just love seeing the photos everyday. Gosh, waiting is so difficult! As a "firsttimer" what tips can you give me. What is not to be missed etc.....

Tami and Chris, great job with the Mickey/cruise sign/banner !! :cheer2::cheer2:
Tami, if you drew that Mickey you are very artistic, wonderful, and Chris I can tell you are extremely technically minded.
I would add it to my signature area if I knew how, guess I'll get my tech-minded DH on the job !!
I do have to ask what today's pic is? it reminds me of a runway...wouldn't it be great if a plane could land on CC, what a vacation !!:cool2:

We have only been on 1 cruise so I am no pro. But, there are shows on the boat at night that are good, the food on the cruise is fantastic, and be ready to relax and unwind!! What type of stuff are you interest in? There is something for everyone!

Thanks...again, great job on Captain Mickey with the ice cream cone. Did you finish the physical banner? If so, do you have any pictures?

As far as what's not to be missed, that's a tough question as everyone's interests are different. We really enjoy just relaxing, so with just one sea day, we probably won't be participating in a lot of the ship's daytime activities this time. We've enjoyed doing the galley tour, wine tastings, certain speakers, Palo brunch, etc. in the past. As we get closer to the cruise, I'm sure that there will be more activity on this thread with ideas just for our cruise (i.e. fish extenders, meets, etc.).

I would highly recommend Passporter's Disney Cruise Line and Ports of Call book. It's very informative and Amazon sells it at a discount. Here's their official website.

Also, read the main board on the DIS. There are lots of good ideas, questions and tips. Here are some threads I subscribed to prior to our last cruise that I found helpful:

Thanks, but it wasn't so much as being technically minded as it is that we have photo editor software and I was bored on Saturday from the cold and snow and all of the kid's baseball and soccer games being cancelled. I just took Tami's Captain Mickey sketch and added to a picture I already had of the Welcome to CC sign. I took the beautiful blue Bahama sky and just used the clone brush to blend in that blue around Mickey and the sign. Next, I added a border that was close to the color of the sketch. I'm not completely happy with the wording, so would gladly change it if anyone has any suggestions.

If you need help with adding the picture to your signature, just send me a PM and I can give you step by step instructions.

Finally, yes that's a runway in today's picture. The runway is the tram path between the family beach and the adult-only beach. It's also used for the bike path. I've only been on it once, but hope to make the trek at least once next May!
