I know Maggie is a bit younger than KT, so I'm not sure where she is on that subject, or rather, where you want her to be!

Fortunately, or unfortunately I've had to get there faster than I was ready. Which is probably a good thing. She's been practicing lacrosse with the HS girls and is often the only MS girls on the field - the girls have accepted her as part of the team, they forget she's only 11. It's spurred some great conversations.

I am back in FL, and back to work today. Saw snow yesterday morning... that was enough.

Thanks for all your prayers & PD for Mom... please keep them coming, as it will be a long road. She is in an acute-care rehab facility now, one of the best in the country. She was complaining last night of more loss of vision, so they are running more tests, however, it may be that she is simply becoming more aware of how much she has lost now that they have her active... yesterday was her first day there, and they already had her walking without a walker, climbing a few stairs, getting in and out of a bathtub (empty, of course) and getting in and out of a car and buckling her seatbelt.

It is so hard to be far away again... but I know that this time she is in good hands. (The first facility she was in should be locked up and shut down...and so should her insurance company for recommending it.)

Kiki - continued prayers and good wishes for your Mom.....I was thinking of you last night when I went to my Mother's to clean her house for Christmas and put up the decorations. When I was getting impatient, I reminded myself that I need to cherish the time with her, and not complain....she is frail, but has her health.

We like the idea of flying in and out of Seattle and not having to fly to Vancouver. The only other one that might have been fun was the longer cruise out of San Francisco. But Jay doesn't want to be gone that long.

And I'm thinking of going north after the cruise. Cold is okay when it is only for a few days.

Matt and I talked last night and are thinking that a few days playing in the snow during his leave would be fun and something different for me. He is looking for lodges todau, but might be a little difficult to find something on such as short notice over the holiday weekend.

Sounds COLD....shiver - shiver - but fun.
Have you tried cross country skiing?

Hi all, first opportunity to check in since thanksgiving. All is well. I was in Austin last week and then drove to college station to pick up Dale on Wednesday to drive back to El Paso (700 Plus Miles). We got caught in quite a snow storm in College Station. Ended up having to stay the night there and head out the next morning. The storm knocked out the cell phone coverage and i didn't want to start out at night in a snow storm with no phones.

I love having him home, as he is taking Ashley to school and picking her up and helping around the house. Boy am I going to miss him again when he leave in January for WDW.

We have lots to do to still get ready for the Holidays. Ashley was in a swim meet last weekend for high school and we have a 3 days meet this weekend for USA Swimming. Luckily Friday is my last day of work for two weeks . can't wait.

Karen and Stacey - prayers for your families and hope everyone recovers quickly.

OM - when are you getting back from Ohio? Need to touch bases with you before dale flys down there.

Hopefully I can drop back in to wish everyone a Merry Christmas before next week.

Oops....sorry.....May 30-June 6...yes, Ann booked it for us. She says they upgrade/upsell these a lot and knows someone at the desk who handles that, so she's going to keep an eye & ear open. But I'm really happy with the room location that we got...aft on a corner, for the views...so unless it's a really good upgrade, I don't know that I'd take it.

Stacey, sounds like fun. Did you say 2010? That seems very far away right now. But it sure sounds tempting!

We have read all of the Twilight series. Very romantic and entertaining until the fourth book, which turns Bella into the Linda Blair character from The Excorcist. Just....bizarre. It is noteworthy that all the plans are made to make a film of the next TWO books, and no mention of the last one. I guess you have to finish the series to see what happens to the characters, but I wouldn't recommend it. And Karen, there is a wedding in the fourth book, but it's not terribly explicit.

Mary, you might want to pick up The Host. Same author, and it's really good.

Yes, 2010. It does seem far away, but then the people going to the Baltics on DCL booked already, and that's 2010. I look at it as plenty of time to make payments, interest-free!

I was checking out the ship...lots of places to eat....the bowling sounds like a blast.... and I love that we can book excursions any time. They don't have the 90-day-out rule like Disney does.
Then I was checking the excursions....so much to see and do!! And this one will be "Photographer's Heaven"!!!
Talk to Kevin, Diana...and think about it...it'll be fun!

If DCL was going we would have booked in a second. As it is we've started a DVC search for early 2010 to go back to Hawaii.

Right now we are worried about snow. You know you are in trouble when Jim Cantore comes to town and Mark saw him doing a remote from a Chicago suburb!
