Good Morning!!

Still raining here, and we are definitely stuck here. I see the Sheriff's office finally got smart, and put up a barricade at the crossing where the gal had to be rescued. I can see that from the kitchen window. We've lived here for 17 years, and no one has ever needed a barricade to know that it isn't safe to cross!
In the last few years, there have been homes built around the back of the mountain behind us, so the new folks back there have no concept of what that water can do.
I'm glad we are all here, together.....last Saturday (golly, it's been a whole week already!) I was panicked at the thought of not getting home.
Forecast calls for rain all week. This may get interesting.

NASCAR already? Wow....time does fly. Before you know it, we'll be hitting the "one year mark" here!

And it used to be that Dunkin Donuts didn't need a warning on their cups that "Coffee is Hot"... just goes to show you what this society has become!

Isn't that the truth...... I didn't want to just come right out and call people stupid......

Wouldn't we be a little disappointed if the coffee WASN'T hot????

:upsidedow I'm going to lose my satellite connection here pretty soon. Too many clouds, and too much rain......guess there's always dial-up. Guess I could just shut her down and get some work done!

Or I could stick around and try for a TOP.......my pirate: skills are a little rusty!

:flower1: Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Happy Sunday!

Quiet day on the thread yesterday.

Mike - hope your eye is feeling better.

Hope the Scuba's are enjoying Lisa's competition.

Have a great day everyone!

Mike's pressure came down to 18 yesterday. Has an appointment to be rechecked in a week to make sure he doesn't rebound.

Another busy day today....
church, a run to the pet store, then a play downtown. after that KT and I go straight to the church scrapbooking crop. :)

Way to go Mike!!

I assume you've got the "bell" to ring if you need anything........ :rotfl:

TRUTH OR NOT?? Maybe Stacey knows..... :3dglasses

There are a number of Catholic churches in Las Vegas. During Sunday
masses, some worshipers contribute casino chips, rather than cash.
Since there are so many casinos, the churches send all the chips to
the diocese offices for sorting. Once sorted for the respective
casinos, a junior priest returns them to be cashed in. This priest
is known as "The Chip Monk". :rotfl2:

You're absolutely right... my parents go all the time!!

Happy Sunday All!

What a quiet Sunday. Went to church this morning and now we are getting ready for a quiet lunch at home. What a change, no things to have to rush off to. Hope everyone has a great week.

Diana, I wish our school would hurry and put out the schedule for next year. I have no idea when we will get out. Hope I know soon. I have already made plans for our December trip, and it looks like I will be pulling kids out of school. One of the teachers told me that the kids were going to have to go to school through Dec. 21. We leave on Dec. 17. Oh well.

Pam

TRUTH (as far as Catholic churches taking casino chips). I am both Catholic & lived in Vegas!!! Well, not Vegas city limits ... Henderson. Our church was not on the strip so I never saw anyone drop chips in the collection basket. I do know that the church right off the strip did though.

PS ... like the "Chip Monk" joke ... first time I've heard that one. :)

Back to folding laundry & getting dinner ready.

Good luck, Lisa... have fun!!!!!!

She did have both fun and luck. She had the highest all around score at her meet on Saturday. It was a small meet, but still, she was very excited. She had to beat her own teammates which can be a difficult task. She had one more meet before the state meet at which they chose the regional qualifiers. This will be tough, but she is hoping for the best. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yeah, sure you are....... :rotfl2:

Jim had the same problem on that picture that is common with most underwater pictures taken. (Don't ask me how I know) The subject moves off before the image is captured and thus the "fish butt" syndrome. This just happened to be a bigger fish than most. :earboy2:

I don't always get "fish butt"!
