update on grandma lightbulb....
her dh called this morning. all of the test results are not in yet, but the doctor is very hopeful that this is a contained cancer. her lymph nodes were clear of cancer cells and that is wonderful!! he gave her 5 yr survival rates of about 80%.
thanks all for the prayers!

back to school.....cramming things in so i don't have to take any to the Scubas! :)
That's GREAT news!!

:earseek: What?? You're going cram what onto Sir Scuba and family?????? :earseek: Doesn't sound like the chocolate chip cookies are going to "cover" that......... :rotfl2:

think chocolate chip AND peanut butter would be enough??? ;)

Cramming school into the kids so I don't have to take any to Florida when we go. I never actually WOULD take school work on vacation, but it's a good threat to get them motivated! ;)

Yeah, it's amazing what they can get done when you threaten them with having to do homework on the airplane. I've used that one myself.

Waiting patiently for Southwest to update their schedule so we can book flights for our summer trip. And waiting, and waiting, and waiting...:confused3

Jim, I don't think I've ever called you anything worse than "pot stirrer"!

I think he prefers "pot sitter." At least that's what he said he was doing one day!! :rotfl2:

Karen, you are wicked. That was pretty funny, though.

Jim, evey time I see that pic, I'm reminded of that Urban Legend about the scuba diver that wound up in a tree. Don't know why...:earseek:

I'd forgotten about that little "typo"! :rotfl2:

They used that on a CSI episode didn't they??
The guy in the scuba gear, dead in the tree in the middle of the desert. Weird!!

Sounds like the basic for a Stephen King novel! :scared1:

The story is: The guy was diving in a lake, one of those fire fighting helicopters scoop him up and then drop him "on the fire" along with the water!!

Wonder if he was done with his "safety stop"?

Chocolate Chip AND Peanut Butter - YUM!!!! Those are my favorites.

I hope my kids don't have too much homework that weekend, but you never know. I will remind Lisa to get her book report done before the kids arrive. They had one evening to pick up a biograpaphy (which I learned about at 8pm when I went to the gym). Thankfully another parent (whose daughter is in Lisa's school class) was generous enough to pick up a book for Lisa at the bookstore that evening. So, Lisa is doing her book report (which turns out has to be a speech) on Mia Hamm the soccer player. Too bad Lisa didn't have more time to select a book because they have to dress up as their person and give a speech about "their" life. She has plenty of gymnastics clothes, just no soccer clothes. I have given all of Matt's old shorts, jerseys, shoes, etc away. Oh well.

Her favorite part so far is to find out that Mia is tiny and she hated ballet. (Lisa likes her already. She had a ballet teacher tell her at age 6 that she would never be a ballerina. That's ok, she wants to be a gymnast any way)

What is with ppl like that? I had a piano teacher tell me once that I'd never be any good and that if I wanted to be good I'd have to put my piano playing BEFORE my academic work! (this happened b/c I admitted I hadn't practiced that much b/c it was finals week)

I had a nursing instructor give me the highest B possible in my clinical ICU rotation (actually, ONE POINT away from an A) and she said (and I quote) "You will never ever make it as an ICU nurse so don't even try!" Well, a couple of years later I worked in the surgical infant ICU at Columbus Children's Hospital. Three years there and I did pretty well, if I do say so myself.

Especially if you found Mike there.

Karen, you shouldn't be stirring the pot before you come down! But that was funny. Impressed you found the post. ;)

What a boring trip it will be if we don't have SOMETHING to talk about!! This way you can "banish me to the pool house" for bringing up your sitting the pot! ;) HA!

Right now it's 70 and sunny in Daytona Beach, and 27 and snowing here (with a windchill of 16) but OF COURSE, my MAIN reason for coming to Florida is to see the Scubas again!!!!!

He IS younger than me, but he was NOT a patient in my unit! ;)

I worked in the ICU BECAUSE I had found Mike....had to leave my home to move hours away from my parents to marry a medical student without any money!!

But I think I did pretty well.

Cupcake's opinion may be different. Although, KT is making peanut butter cookies right now, so after a few of those he'll be totally in love again!
