DH thought I was crazy to book when 2006 rates came out. I wasn't a regular on the boards before our first cruise. Boy have I learned a lot since then.

And that is why we moved from Michigan to Florida.

Speaking of Michigan ... so sorry about the Rose Bowl defeat. I was hoping for a BIG TEN win. KT on the other hand was very happy with the outcome

Bummer!

My guess, 10 days. You have to pay for that cruise now....... :guilty:

We are now at day 4. Still no sun. Over an inch of rain and water water everywhere.

Mike - wish I could say sunshine was headed your way, but here in Chicago it is dreary, raining and they are predicting ice storms and snow later in the week. Fun, fun, fun.

A very quick good morning, and I am out the door. I hate reality!

Diana...you are correct, when it comes to champagne, there is no arm-twisting!! LOL

Have a wonderful Monday!

Wow - just checked online and our category has gone up $1140!!!!!

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but my confirmation letter (which was here waiting for me by the time I got home) says $4806.44. I just did a search on DCL's site (not sure I like the new interface) and got a quote of $7132.44. A difference of $2326. Oh...

hang on...do they automatically include air and transfers...

checking....

ah, yes, my new quote is... $6580.44.

A difference of $1774!!! WOW!

Thanks for the TOP set up, Stacey. A TOP shared with Mary! :)

Just shows it pays to book early!

And that it pays to book onboard! I was checking last night to see what an inside cabin would cost us, if we booked that for Alicia and a friend or cousin. Vs. having her in the cabin with us. DCL site was down, so I couldn't check it anywhere. Sounds like it just went up, so that won't be feasible.

Regarding the quote about the Rose Bowl, we Texans are very proud of our longhorns. "Hook em Horns"

I know the feeling... hubby coaches Pop Warner footbal... DD cheers, and DS plays football for a younger division than Ray coaches... so from Aug-November, we are lucky to see each other before bedtime!!!

Now you have me very curious about who you are. Lisa cheered in Pop Warner for 4 years (age 5-9). After competing in the O-rena for the Jr Pee Wee Division she quit cheering for full time gymnastics. (The problem she had was that being so small, she was a flyer and the bases dropped her too many times for both of our comformt levels). I was much happier when she was tumbling. I know she can control her own body. Does your daughter do the Power Cheer thing or just Pop Warner. We know a lot of people at both places. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Sounds like you all need to meet up anyway. Tell the kids it's "a family you met on the DIS, and they live nearby". Just tell Lisa they aren't going on a cruise yet, they just happen to live near you.

I think a pre-cruise meet is in order, but just the parents. No reason to bring the kids into this yet.

KiKiPug, we need to have the first pre-cruise meet for the Double Scoop. We are always game for an adult cruise meeting at Stonewoods (DS and DD favorite restaurant).

After reading the comments above I did a quick check on our cruise pricing. The pricing increased $1700.

That was not through the Disney site, but through All Seas Travel. I checked them before booking on the ship just to make sure it was feasible to get the two rooms which we did.

Interesting it went up so much. I am wondering if it was just for this date or if they went up across the board.

Jim, What I had always heard is that there are so many rooms that are allowed for early booking. Not sure if it is so many per category or so many overall. Once they hit that mark the prices go up.

That's why the Panama Canal cruises went up so much in one day.

My thinking is that with the number of rooms booked onboard during our 12/18 sailing that we hit the number for the 5/27/06 cruise and that's why the prices went up.

Don't know. I tried to answer my own question. The All Seas Travel web site it really good for giving the prices for all cruises, all cats, including the port charges.

The week before the 5/27/2006 trip our cat is $4833. Our 5/57 trip is $6490. The following week it is $6490.

I wonder if they realized this week really is prime season since it is over Memorial Day.

The bottom line is that I am glad we waited in those long lines to rebook something. That would be my one major suggestion for Disney, make it easier to re-book on the ship. We should not have to work hard to re-book. They should make it easy.

Interesting you'd choose Matt and Lisa's favorite restaurant for an "adult only" DIS meet. ;) ;)

Hmm... Stonewoods... like you'd have to twist my arm! One great thing about where we live... if you can't find someplace great to eat, there's NO pleasing you! Inlet Harbor is always great too... great atmosphere for getting into that 'cruising state of mind!'

Just checked All Seasons to compare how pricing is looking now... we didn't book with them, but their pricing was the same as our TA... Cat 9 has gone up $1740 since I booked in Nov!!!!!! That savings will go a long way toward my bar tab!

Someone (can't remember who now) and I were talking about the cost of the "other" cruise lines and Disney. They mentioned that the other cruise lines seem to reduce their fares as the date got closer to sail away. Disney seems to reverse that process.

I think we need to buy some more Disney stock, specifically the DCL stock!! :earseek:
