Before Lisa's meet I cut some deals.....get a 36 and she gets to chose any one items from Publics.....win over all and get one item from Beals.

I guess we found what motivates her. She picked ribs from Publics and the shopping trip to Beals is still to come.

I'm still trying to figure out what that says about her female gene's and shopping...;)

Matt pointed out that it was not "fish butt", but "mermaid butt". ;)

'Mermaid butt' can get you in a whole lot more trouble than 'fish butt'

Ok, it's Sunday night. Mike is feeling way major viral and has spent most of the day on the couch (except for going to the play this afternoon)

KT and I went to the church scrapbooking thing and she got THREE pages done. One about Nick's birthday and a double page spread about Maggie.

Now the pressure is on to get everything done before Thursday!! I can hardly believe that by the end of this week I'll be in FLORIDA!!! Woo-hoo!

Friday looks like 72 with a 30% chance of rain... funny, when I lived in New England, 30% precip was a great forecast... in FL they make it sound like Noah had better be prepared!!!

Hmm, FL must be like TX, 30% chance of rain means it will rain 30% of the day... :rotfl:

No, in FL, 30% chance means that theres a 30% chance that it will rain for at least 30 seconds...

Sooooo jealous of your trip!! I can't even go to the grocery store. Stupid creek.
I'm also thinking I will never let anyone work on my eyeballs. Hope Mike feels better soon!

Several have asked me about the mermaids, so here is the story.

Back in the days before WDW there was Wekki Waki Springs (sp). They put on mermaid shows and was a top attraction in Florida. It's located just north of Tampa. Of course they have been having financial problems over the past few years so they have opened it up for diving.

It's a great spring and you dive where the mermaids do their show which is the attraction. We dove before the first show, watched the show, and then dove again. On our second dive this mermaid was training. We had a great time watching her train.

It is amazing what they can do with their breath. They have air hoses through out the spring and have to time their location and breathing. In the show they don't hold an air hose.

By the way, the water is 70 degrees. Matt and I have heavy wetsuit on and they are out there is little swim suits.

:flower1: Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Happy Monday!

Jim - I thought of Wekki Waki but didn't know they allowed diving there. Anyone remember "Where the Boys Are" from the 60's and the scene that I think was supposed to be at Wekki Waki?

Mike - hope the eye is feeling better today!

Karen - lucky you getting to go to Florida! Tell KT great job on 3 pages. I tried to get back to my scrapbook yesterday but only got 2 pages done.

Well off ot read the boards and then to work. I think it is going to be a tough week.

I don't think he'd do an elective eye surgery (vision correction). This surgery was to help prevent blindness from his glaucoma (or as I like to say it "to help prevent his eyeball from exploding!) ;)

How quickly you forget how cold it is to swim in the northern part of the country... even in the summer I hardly remember the water getting above 70!

Back in Nebraska, when I was on the swim team and played water polo, I can guarantee you that the water wasn't anywhere near as warm as 70 when the season started at the end of May!

Ohminnie....I knew Mike didn't have a choice...and I know that when it comes right down to it, I would do it too. But my Mom had a horrible experience when she had her glaucoma surgery. They dropped an instrument of some sort onto her eye and cut it badly. Then she had to have another surgery to repair that.....she couldn't see out of that eye for a long time. I think now that she's had her hip surgery, we'd have a hard time talking her into any other surgery, ever again. It is just so scary to have anyone near my eyes. That's why I won't do RK or whatever it is the doc keeps saying I should do. I only have one pair of eyes, and I'll just wear glasses, thank you.
Don't know what I'll do when I absolutely have to have something done. (chicken)

Karen - glad Mike is doing better..... I feel for him - I had the virus last weekend before I had to go to Cleveland..... ER is getting slaughtered with the flu at the moment......

I'm not chicken about Lasik... but I'm way too picky.... so even a minor halo effect or anything would drive me nuttier than usual....:p

I had to work all weekend... Frances and Lauren had to go to Cincinnati for a dance competiton..... Lauren's team got a Silver and a Bronze....... The Senior group got 2 Golds, a Platinum and Best in Show.....

Oh well.... back to work...
