SO, you can schedule ALL you spa appts in advance or JUST your couples massage? It just seems like a steep price just to be able to pick your dining rotation.

The price includes the cost of the couples massage, the Palo Dinner upcharge, a champagne breakfast (which they will allow you to order as much as you like from. We ordered for the kids too), the welcome basket and the rose turndown. I think sold separately the massages were $90 each, the Palo charge was $10 each, so the additional ($90 covered the breakfast, gift basket etc and for me - the peace of mind not to have to rush around). I had sailed on two previous Christmas Cruises, and had been disappointed in either not getting the spa service I had wanted or the times we had wanted (and that was being one of the first people on the ship and in one case, the first person at the spa. All of the slots were already booked before the cruise even boarded)

Sorry that post was by Scuba Mom. I forgot to sign Jim out. He is currently at the Daytona Speedway watching the Truck Races. We are getting packed for our weekend away for another Gymnastics Meet. This one is in Tampa. Good Luck Lisa. :cheer2:

Kroger had Banfi??? Wow. I have one bottle chilled....do I need to keep the other two in the fridge, too?
Nope, I didn't drink one last night. Took the Nyquil. Maybe tonight I'll open one. Or maybe right now. :drinking:

Mermaid Butt?? C'mon, we may be gullible, but we aren't stupid!
So who's the diver with their feet together??

Kevin is correct. Matt and Jim dove at Weiki Watchi (SP?) near Tampa last year with the mermaids. Lisa had a meet at Tropicana Field near Tampa.

No, really it is a mermaid. It was taken on one of our dives here in Florida.

I should get Bear to play the "where am I" game.

Sharon, you were not to tell everyone. That was part of the fun!

Where is everybody tonight????

Sorry guys, been busy here. Pushing school so we don't have to take any to Florida. Plus between Mike's mom's cancer and Mike's eye surgery and my parents down (twice) and the dog, and KT's First Communion and Nick's baptism and and and and.....

I've been able to keep up reading, just not posting much.

Now I'm finishing up my second Mike's hard lemonade b/c Mike is on a diuretic (post eye surgery) that makes ANY carbonated beverage taste HORRIBLE!! It's pretty funny to watch him take a sip of something and make an awful face. Now I have to finish his Mike's :)

Then it's off to bed b/c tomorrow I test out "Dream Dinners!" ;)

Just got back from the truck race. My first truck race and it was great. I liked it better than Nascar. When the truck can flip and still keep racing, that is cool!

btw, about Mike's eye surgery....they did it around 8 today. His pressure spiked so they had to keep checking it every hour or so. We didn't get out of there till noon! AND he has to go back tomorrow at 8:30 to be rechecked. The office isn't even open tomorrow, the doc is meeting him at the back door and taking him up! :earseek:

Update on Mike's mom....she is healing well from the surgery. Has good days and bad days emotionally. Starts chemo on Tuesday. :( Took the kids to a Christian bookstore today and they picked some things out for her to give her hope and courage....

well, at least that's what I ENCOURAGED them to do. KT got her a little bear/angel figurine and Nick got her a stained glass cat looking into a fishbowl. If nothing else, she'll look at those and smile while she thinks of her grandbabies and hopefully that will give her the aformentioned "hope and courage" to fight this! :)

should be about time for a TOP

first one of those in a long time!!

Popping in to say Hi!

Jim - glad you enjoyed the truck race but just for the record it is still NASCAR :) I hear there were a couple of big wrecks (I fell asleep and didn't watch).

BTW - there is a new thread on the main board called BYOB in which both of your bring wine to dinner threads are linked. No I am not posting to it!

Mike - sorry to hear about the aftertaste from the surgery - hope all goes well tomorrow.

Karen - I'm sending you a pm.

Ohminnie.....when it rains, it pours, doesn't it? Glad that "Grandma Lightbulb" is recovering well...prayers for her during chemo.

My apoligies, Jim....just couldn't imagine that your pic was a real Mermaid! And Sharon LET you do that!;) You guys have all the fun.

Having a swig of Nyquil and heading for bed. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Stacey

Good morning Cruisers!
We sail in 66 weeks!

Woo Hoo! Another week closer to cruising!

Yeah, sure you are....... :rotfl2:

Jim had the same problem on that picture that is common with most underwater pictures taken. (Don't ask me how I know) The subject moves off before the image is captured and thus the "fish butt" syndrome. This just happened to be a bigger fish than most. :earboy2:

Morning all - Thought I'd jump on before the insanity begins. DH has school today and is sound tech for our local theatre company's production tonight. (I'm beginning to think, the next time I see him will be on the cruise) Guess I'm the chief logistics engineer for the weekend. 2 kids, 3 basketball games, delivering girl scout cookies and selling cookies at the local grocery store. Whew, might have to try some of that Banfi by the time I collapse this evening...

Banfi and chocolate!!! - What doesn't chocolate go well with!!!

Glad the sugeries went well - hope recovery is just as smooth for everyone!

Just discovered the best reason for telling the kids about the cruise so far in advance..."Mom, can we do more chores to earn $ for the cruise???" - oh, yeah, music to any parents' ears - slave labor for the next 66 weeks!!! :cool1:

Have a great weekend!

Monica

I'll have to remember that if I end up telling them sooner than expected!!!!!!

I know the feeling about being the "chief logistic engineer"... DH works at the Speedway, and as you may have noticed (or not) Daytona is a pretty busy place this weekend! He hasn't had a day off since mid-January... I heard the shower running at 1AM... must have been when he got home from the truck race, and when the dog woke me up at 5, he was already gone again. I might see him on the cruise, too!!

Mary... we'll have to educate him on the finer points...

That's a good idea... kids can feel kind of 'helpless' in a situation like this... it gives them something positive and beneficial to do to be involved in her recovery. Way to go, Mom!!!

See... I've posted my responses one at a time, just so I can get

#2800:banana:

I love round numbers! (Actually, I read it wrong, thought we were at 3000, and got overly happy for nothing... realized it as soon as it posted, so I've decided to celebrate #2800 anyway!!!!!)
