I have been shooting with a D100 since it came out. I have 2 "Pro" lenses the 70-200 AFS f/2.8 telephoto, and the 17-35 AFS f/2.8. My "normal" lens is a 35-85 AFS f3.5-4? I also have a 50 f/1.8 for low light stuff.

The Houston marathone is fun --- I will typically take 6-7000 images in 6 hours. I have taken a bit of a break while in school, but I have shot part-time professionally -- mainly location, family photos (on the beach, at the park, at home, etc). For awhile I was working for another photographer shooting weddings -- she would take the formals at the church and I would finish up at the reception. I also have a friend who is a industrial photographer. Once I got to go out on a bunkering barge that was refueling onw of the Princess line cruise ships in Houston. He also had me out on a ledge on a 40 story building in Houston at 5:00 one morning!

Yes I would like to upgrade. I think a D2X would be nice to take the group photo with! :rolleyes1

If you're such a pro, then why didn't I look like Cindy Crawford in that photo you took of me at Christmastime????:confused3 :lmao:

Or dancing on the tables :yay:

So you saw that on the 10 night cruise? I thought for sure I'd destroyed all the pictures!

Getting closer! I just filled out all of our forms online, printed it all out, and put them, and our passports, in our collection spot - the guest room bed. :cool1:

Now I just have to finish our shopping, dig out the suitcases, collect all our stuff together, pack, panic, and get on the plane...

Where are the docs & nurses & parents? We've covered the peein', poopin' & pukin'. So, I've got another unpleasant topic ... can children get hemorrhoids? Waiting for the on-call nurse to call back but haven't heard anything yet.

Ang

I'm sure someone has already answered you...but yes, they can.

:guilty: :guilty: :guilty: Oh no! I think kids can get them, but I'm not sure. Have you talked to your pediatrician?

More lovely dinner table talk!

--Samantha

Talked to the nurse before Idol started. Said to take Ashley in to the ped in the a.m. to have her checked. I'll be calling for an appt. in the morning. She didn't complain any more tonight so all is well.

So what's for dinner tonight? We're having Trader Joe's menu. TJ shrimp stuffed wild salmon rolls, mushroom risotto, and asparagus roasted with truffle oil, almonds and balsamic vinegar. OK, the last one is my creation. Sipping a glass of Italian red while it's cooking. And it only took me twenty minutes to put it together! I love Trader Joe's.

I'm thinking Sloppy Joe's and frozen french fries..........:guilty:

Cruise related...sort of...

Has anyone entered their flight information on DCL's website? I've tried to a couple of times, but it wouldn't go through. ???

Think I'll be hittin' the hay early tonight. I'll have to try to get out of the house at 6:00 so that I can get some work done before having to take Ashley to the dr.

Dinner tonight ... cornish hens, au gratin potatoes (box) & corn. Diana, your dinner sounded yummy. There was a TJs in Vegas but to be honest, I never went there. Guess I didn't know what I was missing, huh?

Speaking of Vegas ... DH is going for a conf. next week. I'll be a single mom... wish I was going too. He's so lazy that I bet he doesn't even make plans with any old friends while he's there.

Night, night all!

I think it will only take it if you are flying down same day.

Just saw on the main cruise board that the May 20th cruisers have started to get their documents....we're next!

Oh, you know! They are fine when they are small, once the turn medium.......... they gotta go!! :rotfl2:

Ya know, all this talk about cameras got me thinking.....

MickeyMo'sBo....If you took pictures of Mr. Scuba running a race, would you be taking them of someone running a marathong????

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Ahh...that makes sense. I wasn't too worried about it. It didn't seem like a "something they absolutely had to know or they weren't letting us cruise" thing.

I have the D100 book and he is an active poster on DPreview. Thom's D200 book is out. Thom is probalby the most realistic, balanced expert on the forum.

Another good post-processing book is Ron Reznic's eBook. I have the first edition I believe he has revised it.

Have you ever looked at the Fantasea enclosures

For $180 and the cost of a decent coolpix might be a decent UW rig.
Thanks, it does look like something I could use. Heck even just for the iTTL information.......

I have an Olympus C-7070 with a housing I use for my underwater shots now. It's does a pretty good job, just a little slow on the shutter release. When it comes down to housing the D200, I'll probably go with Ikelite. They have a good reputation and excellent customer service record! My main problem with them (speaking of iTTL) is they only support iTTL with their strobes...... I have a Sea & Sea that is perfectly fine and I don't particularly want to change just for that. Could go back to manual, but I like TTL!!! :woohoo:

Liz - Yes, Charmaine got fired and Tarek(?). Two for the price of one. Tarek needed to go about 3 weeks ago. Anxious to see what happens next week.

Sorry to hear about your friend's mom.
