I only have less than 2 weeks to DIS! The contractor is going to start tearing down our old siding in a few days.

COOL!! What kind of siding did you end up picking?

ABSOLUTELY the round. Ppl SWEAR by the square b/c they don't want to waste bread....square mold, square bread...makes sense. But they don't make bread big enough to FULLY cover the square mold....so they don't seal nicely. With the round, the bread covers the whole mold and seals very nicely. Sure, you have to cut off the very crust of it, but I'd rather have nice sealing than not waste bread.

You should see me when I buy "pie mold bread." Nothing can touch it in the cart. I'm a crazy woman at the check out making sure no one manhandles it or puts it in a bag with something that will squish it. I bring it in the house very very carefully---like I'm carrying a fragile crystal or something. I don't like ANYTHING to squish my pie mold bread. :)

Hey, we all have our priorites. :lmao: :lmao:

And here she is in process!! Watch out!!!

Cruise question......

If I mail a box ahead of time, am I able to mail stuff back using the same box right from the ship? I would flatten it out and bring packing tape with me. It would be nice if I could so we don't have to lug around all that snorkel gear.

Speaking of snorkel gear...does everyone bring the fins? Hesitant about bringing them.

Thanks.

Hello All

I have been lurking here for a bit and let me say, you all are SO hard to keep up with! Miss one day and you're 30 pages behind! But I love reading here and spend WAY too much time on this board! I feel like I know some of you. I've learned so much from you all too!

I've had my cruise booked for a year and a half and my SIL and I are now wondering if we should switch to late seating. (Nothing like waiting till the last minute) We're just nervous that we'll be too rushed with early seating. The question is, how do we switch to late when we're this close to sailing? There are 12 of us in our group. Can it be done?

Thanks for any help you can give!

Good Morning Cruisers

Time is passing quickly, just not quickly enough!!

Have a long day ahead of me, but least I am not worried about the bags and shirts getting shipped.:) Our Board meeting is tonight, and then on Saturday, we have Board elections. I am so glad to get those two things behind me before leaving on vacation.

Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning and happy hump day all. I have 14 more days until we leave for the "sunshine state". I hope I can be ready by then. AND, I have to take my FIL to the Doctor's on Tuesday which includes 3 different doctors. So knock that day off my list. Time for me to kick it into high gear. Like sitting at this computer is BAD for me right now. I can't stay too much longer.....

Alicia and I do!!! But then again, I REALLY like my fins..... and we are doing a little more than snorkeling.
I feel that a good fitting mask and a decent snorkel can make the experience a much more pleasant affair. If your masks leaks or continually fogs up and the snorkel leaks, the experience will NOT be a good one!

Diana is planning on doing some snorkeling and will rent fins there!

Hi JenS - :welcome: glad you decided to "jump" in with us. I'm a first time Disney cruiser also, but I think you could change if you wanted to once we get on the ship. You have to find out where you have to go, but I've heard on these boards that it is possible to do. I would ask at check-in. Good luck and I feel the same way, we have early seating too, but it wouldn't be good for me to eat at 8:30 at night. My tummy wouldn't like it. So, I'll try it this one time and see how it goes.

Do you have any kids? I'm Maria, DH - Augie, DS-AJ 10, and DS - Anthony 6. We're from NY and btw - I LOVE the Steelers!!! Have been lovin' them since the 70's. I was a happy girl this Superbowl. We'll talk more on the cruise.

Ah, yes. See, both molds in the fire are round. :)
That was in Gatlinburg. In 2000. :) That was the time we experimented with putting corn bread mix in the weiner molds with the hot dogs (instead of bread) Made a perfect corn dog! :)

Yeah, but, what if we forget something important....... like pants! :lmao:

Not a problem. Just be prepared NEVER to live it down here on the DIS!!!! :)

Thanks Kevin. I bought all of us new equipment. It's pretty nice I think. I think Body Glove makes them. I got them in BJ's. The boys' were $30 and ours were $40 each. Maybe I should have the boys try them out in the bath? Too cold up here for a pool. Although, I think it was RachelTori that left an invitation open to come to her house with the pool. Seriously, they look pretty good. The boys have never snorkeled before. Think they need the fins? And Augie's fins are size 13!!!! They're huge. And heavy. Actually, he comes with his own fins..:lmao:

OK, what are we cooking there? could it be a burger?

MORE than likely it was either a pizza or a pie (probably cherry)

Funny thing is....we don't really cook burgers in them although they seem the right shape! :) Maybe some ppl do...but we don't. :)

Just call DCL. Usually it's easier to switch TO late seating than TO main seating. There are probably 12 ppl on the early seating wait list who would be happy if you switched!!!

Welcome Jen - wish you would have joined us sooner! Happy to hear that you've learned something that will hopefully make your first cruise memorable.

I would call DCL today. They usually set up the dining rooms about a week out so I think you should be good. As Karen said it is easier to switch to late seating than from late to early.
