This reminds me ... our new neighbors are in for a rude awakening this summer. I think they moved in in the fall. I'm sure they don't know that they'll have a "chorus" singing them to sleep during the summer. The house has a koi pond in the back yard and during the summer, the frogs start "singing" at night. It usually takes me a few nights to get used to them again.

This reminds me ... our new neighbors are in for a rude awakening this summer. I think they moved in in the fall. I'm sure they don't know that they'll have a "chorus" singing them to sleep during the summer. The house has a koi pond in the back yard and during the summer, the frogs start "singing" at night. It usually takes me a few nights to get used to them again.

We've only got one frog in our pond. Haven't heard him sing (must need a girl friend first) but he is getting big.

I've decided that the ones next door MULTIPLY in the off-season. I swear that they get louder & louder every year.

Tinytink. Glad to have you aboard with us. Like Ohiominnie said, you'll be going from one extreme to the other. This is our first cruise. Let me introduce ourselves..me(Maria), DH (Augie), DS (AJ 10), and DS (Anthony 6). We're from NY and we can't wait to meet everyone. We leave in 3 weeks from tomorrow. It's coming fast. Can't wait to meet ya.

It's nice to meet you on DIS, can't wait to meet you on board. Our family consists of me, DH, DD (3), DS (15mo), DS (10)-but not cruising this time, and the DS (a9). We are flying in the night before the cruise.

So, this may have been covered during the "Dark Ages" (my term for the period of time I missed out on all the chit chat here), but, what SHORE EXCURSIONs do you all have planned?

I don't think there are many people that are doing official DCL excursions. We don't have any planned but mainly because DDs are too young. We'll be hanging at the beach. There are a few people that will be diving and something that will be touring ruins. Quite a few are booked with David & Ivan but I'm not sure what all that entails.

I'm working from home this morning. We had a company come out to install pine straw. It took 85 bales!

I also had to make something for teacher appreciation lunch at day care. I made jambalya. A teacher told me the other day that they'd miss me when my kids are gone. Guess I better go see about packing it up & delivering to day care.

I open our windows to listen to the frogs singing in the evening. It's like one of those nature cd's without the background music.

DH, Ds and I are touring the ruins in Costa Maya with David and Ivan's tour. Included in our tour is a pre-historic lunch with families at the local village. We're doing the DCL jeep tour in Coz, mainly because DS really wanted to, and it's his vacation, too.

Call me silly (won't be the first time), but why do you have 85 bales of pine straw installed?

Around here, everyone pretty much uses pine straw as cover in their bedding areas. We had it delivered and spread it ourselves the first year here. Bruce ended up taking a trip to the emergency room for a tetanus shot because he put a rusty wire through his hand. That's the last year we did it ourselves. We have a huge bank (slope) between our property & the neighbors. It probably took 1/2 of the order just to cover that. I think it's time we think of planting ground cover! It's nice for someone just to come out & have it done in an hour.

I had to make a trip to the dr. this morning for a sinus infection. I don't get sick all winter, then less that 3 weeks before we leave, BAM! Stopped by the store to get the Rx filled, get home only to read 'take 2 tablets by mouth daily with ORANGE JUICE'. I don't have any orange juice, so I get to go back to the store. DS has Sylvan tonight, so I may as well kill some time in Wal-Mart and ONLY buy orange juice. Right...

Now there's an argument for NOT getting our frog a girlfriend. We did start out with two tadpoles. Now we have one GIANT frog.

Thanks everyone, for the Happy Birthday wishes! I am having a good one. Just got back from lunch with Kevin at our nearby favorite Mexican food place. Green chile stew, yum. Not so much a warm weather meal, but not as filling as most of their other dishes! It's basically just green chile, with a little meat and potatoes added.
