What's cooking mom???

Sadly, the real question here is "ARE we eating?" :rotfl:

Definitely nothing you guys are used to. Just plain old home cookin'. And not very often.

Back from the baseball game. It was a good game...but a few injuries. Our pitcher got hit with a ball, the other team's 3rd baseman got nailed and the umpire got nailed. Jared's team won.

I wish I could make these bigger. Photobucket only lets me make them smaller. :confused3

Sitting here at Yeager airport in Charleston waiting for our 350 flight. Scoopie, Lauren, Emily (Lauren's friend) and Frances all say hi!

OK - trivia quiz for the day. No googling allowed. The airport here was named for a famous West Virginian. What's his full name - what did he do -Bonus point if you can say what town in WV was he from......

Hope that everybody is enjoying this wonderful weekend.

Also....I've found that if you don't teach the kids they days of the week until they are in high school, they don't really KNOW it's "Saturday." :lmao: :lmao:

Aw, crud. Why didn't someone tell me that before we taught Erin the days of the week!?!?!

Sounds like fun! Except the man-eating-beast part!! Wishing we had some family here.

The man-eating-beast is a piece of work. No kidding, with the exception of my parents and their one friend (the cooking one, who walked him when he was a puppy), the dog hates EVERYONE.

As for the family, they can be a burden as well as a blessing. I have to take them in small doses. And this weekend is pushing it, lengthwise.

Virgil, would that be General Chuck Yeager - the first man to break the sound barrier?

Working cruise - who's he kidding????

I wish that I wasn't kidding - Frances, Lauren and Emily will definitely have a great time - but 630am breakfast and 7-12 meetings on M/T/W are not my idea of relaxing.....LOL Those that have met me before know that I am definitely a night owl - and NOT an early morning person. Frances on the other hand will be up early.....

DING DING DING - we have a winner......... Boy that was quick!!!

OK - more questions - what did Brig. General Chuck Yeager apply for - but was turned down because he was not a college graduate?

What was the name of his plane when he broke the sound barrier - who was it named after?

If I am remembering correctly, didn't he apply for the Mercury astronaut training program, but was turned down? Sorry, but I don't know the name of his plane.

Mary, it looks like you and I were typing at the same time, as well as thinking alike!

Virgil, have a WONDERful cruise!

The only part of the trivia I knew was that it was Chuck Yeager.

Let's see.....who did he name his plane after...??? :confused3

I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday. We went to an Easter Egg Hunt this morning at the ball fields. So it wasn't really a hunt ... just a mad dash to get eggs. Most of the them were filled with trinkets so at least the kids don't have MORE candy. Afterward we went to Costco for the standing rib roast & wine. I was able to find a small one. OHMinnie, I just liked that wine the other night when Bruce & I had a date. I couldn't find the Shiraz so I got a Cab/Shiraz. It was $20. I'll let you know tomorrow how it was. I couldn't believe that there were $200  bottles there.

Virgil, have a great trip! You know we're all jealous.

I just finished boiling eggs. So it's off to go dye them with the girls.

My dad would be very disappointed in me if he knew that I can't remember this. He is a bigtime Yeager/Right Stuff buff. I can't tell you how many times we saw that movie. :badpc: but replace pc with tv!!
