Hello, all! Checking in from my parents' house (outside Philly). We came down last night for our version of a Passover sedar, which with my family is always an interesting event. One of their friends had made a HUGE Easter basket for Erin full of all kinds of sweets, and the kid's been on a sugar high for 18 hours. :Pinkbounc Thankfully, the same friend is doing most of the cooking for tonight (including a sacher torte - yummy!), and Erin's her helper. So she's dealing with the worst of the behavior. LOL! As for me, I'm just trying to stay out of the way of the man-eating-beast that my parents call a pet and also trying not to eat all of the amazing chocolate covered macaroons that my dad got. :rolleyes1

yeah, but weigh that with at least 6 weeks of vacation a year (not including summer breaks) and lots of extra time off (i.e. KT didn't do ANY of my school on Tuesday and both of them didn't do much on Thursday and Friday b/c of the really nice weather)

Of course, THEY feel abused!!! :lmao:

I'm sure they don't see it that way - they see it's a Saturday... :teeth:

woo hoo!! A top with Karen and her poor unfortunate mistreated children....

Well, now, see, that's the BEAUTY of homeschooling....

for one...they don't compare their week to a regular school week....they've always had a "weird" schedule. we like to approach it philosophically--- as in "learning doesn't just happen between 9am and 3pm, Monday-Friday." :lmao:

Also....I've found that if you don't teach the kids they days of the week until they are in high school, they don't really KNOW it's "Saturday." :lmao: :lmao:

What night is the midnight buffet??? I'll have to be sure to take a nap on that day. I think it was OHMinnie that said she's too full to enjoy it. I don't think that'll be a problem for me .... I eat then a few hours later I'm hungry again!

I don't remember what night they have it on....but I know what TIME it is! :lmao:

There's actually a funny book about cruising and it's title is "What Time Is The Midnight Buffet"

Late for Jared's game.....Jay took him to the field.....I had better run.....

HAVE A GREAT SATURDAY........except Nick and KT.....HAVE A GREAT WHATEVER DAY!

I'm Shiann... I have a 10yr son that has REALLY had some tough times(physically and academically). Our school started him on "Earobics" last year...it has been WONDERFUL!

Thanks to you and all the wonderful educators...you make a BIG difference in little lives!

I'm glad to know it is working for your son! It really is a cool program!

Hi all -- I am really feeling lazy today. Don't feel like doing anything. Maybe that is because I just worked on my checkbook and realized I don't have any money. We have another full week before a check. Anyway, I think I will stay close to home and try to stay out of the stores for another week.

Unfortunately I was just thinking the same thing. We had car insurance and motorcycle insurance come up, plus the repairs to our house from the storm (drat those deductibles). It doesn't help that DH will be off of work possibly up to a week next week. But the cruise is paid (DUH!), and we've got plane tickets. What else do we need but our credit card! Thankfully DS still fits into last summer's clothes, and I think I can find enough to fit me so I don't embarass anyone.

After Mike was born and I stopped working, not having a M-F routine was a tough adjustment after years of a regimented M-F school schedule and then right into working full time M-F... I suddently had no clue what day it was... I'm sure being sleep deprived didn't help much either... :rotfl2:

HEY! You never do that when I say I'm cooking! :guilty:
I'm lucky that Hamburger Helper is popular at our house (although I don't care for it). No gourmet cooking at our house! I think we're having t-bones and baked potatoes on the grill tomorrow; no family, just the 3 of us. DD is leaving to go back to KY tomorrow.

Except on DCL I believe it is 11 pm :)

It's a quiet day on the boards and here at the library. It's a beautiful 77 degrees and partly sunny. DH is picking me up on the motorcycle when I get off of work at 1:00 :cool1: . Have a great weekend, everyone.

Someone that just got back from the first Disney cruise to Cozumel since.....
just posted on teh main board. Brief but encouraging, at least compared to what I was expecting.
