I havent actually gotten to the running stage, just setting my sights high :teeth:

I didn't even start running with running in my sights.

DS came home one night in Aug. and needed to practice running a mile for ROTC. He asked me to go and sure, why not.

I could not do it. I had to quit part way through.

That was when I decided that I might not have a weight issue, but I sure was out of shape. I started running the next day for good.

Don't go too far north as the traffic going south in the morning is really bad and then again going north in the evening sucks too!!! :teeth:

How bad do you mean? Like living maybe 15 or so miles away would take how long do you think?
My DH has a bad drive right now it takes him 1 hour to get to work and its not that far maybe 25 miles.
I don't think it couldn't be any worse? Do you think?
 Makes me crazy thinking about the long drive he takes. LOL :furious:

Depends which 15 miles you're talking about!!! (you'll see the humor in that when you actually live here!) The Crown Point Parkway area is a GREAT area to work - lots of great restaurants and Perimeter Mall nearby. Getting there and getting home are another story! If you look at Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Roswell & Alpharetta, the drive shouldn't be too bad. Forget Forsyth County and the City of Cumming - that's the 15 miles you DEFINITELY want to avoid!!!

There are many wonderful schools and communities close enough to the top end perimeter -- you'll have lots to choose from. :thumbsup2

Actually, this meeting WAS supposed to be in NYC, however, the 'mothership' had a hotel & catering credit to use up from a cancelled meeting in Philly... so our meeting got moved there. :guilty:

A TOP shared with Maria, NYC, Philly, and beer!

Aw...shoot and double shoot

Loved Vegas when we were there in Jan, hadn't been for 13 years so it sure had changed, ready to go again just don't think it will be this year!!

ATL has the 3rd ot 4th worst traffic in the nation, 15 miles could take an hour or more!!

OK, LOOKS LIKE MOVING TO ATL BACK ON!!so, those of you, help me with what you think are considered the better places to live and schools, etc!!! Help! :yay: :hourglass

My DH will work right around Crown Point Parkway, Atlanta area
Disney Fans,

Your husband will be working in the by the Perimeter mall area of Atlanta. If you have kids in school, want to live reasonably close, and don't want to do private schools, I would suggest the East Cobb area. Off Johnson's Ferry (if you want to spend 300 + on a home in either the Pope or Walton HS districts. If you want to spend less you can go a little farther North and find a house from 100 -700 in the Lassiter HS district. We are in the Lassiter district. Great schools. If you have younger kids, you want to check the elementary and middle schools as well. Let me know if you have other questions. Happy to assist. We were transferred here 11 years ago and really lucked out, since we didn't know the area or anyone here at all. My husband did the drive past the Perimeter area to work for about 8 years.

Comment on Atlanta traffic. It really depends if you can use the back roads. I stay off the highway from 3:30 to 7 p.m. but my commute home takes around 30 minutes and it is 17 miles. Rarely have an accident that causes a delay. Bad day 45 minutes.

JustmeStace, We were on the Mexican Rivera cruise at the same time. My son recognized your picture. I think you have a teenage son.

DH is building a house in the Lassiter area, way too expensive house for us but it is going to be stunning and hopefully will sell quickly, He likes that area and would move there but we haven't put this house on the market so I refuse to look at anything until this is listed!!
