Made the mistake of taking her to see "Aquamarine" today. She kept asking to see the mermaid movie and I didnt check it out like I should have. The Little Mermaid it is not and not for a 7 year old. Nothing like R but maybe more for early teens with a mom to "discuss" afterwards. When they make jokes about growing breast, my DD just asked what did they say?...Chicken me...Oh, I didnt hear it sorry. She is only 7 well not even will be 7 in April....

I am sooo not looking forward to the teen years.

My almost 10 yr old DD really really wants to see this....I am not shy with her and it would not make me uncomfortable to discuss this stuff wtih her. SHe has seen and loves Mean Girls. Think it'd be okay for her?

Good Grief - I have only missed 2 days and OVER 20 pages to read!

Happy Birthday, WTG Jim, good luck Lisa, and of course the BWVPam family! Hope I didn't leave anyone out, sorry.

Just stopping in to mark my place! I'm in between going to weigh in, and going to an estate sale. Alicia has class/rehearsal all day and Kevin is off to scuba class. You'd think he would learn it one of these days, wouldn't you?

Speaking of busy schedules, I just found out that on March 18, Alicia has tap master classes at the University from 9 am to 2:30 pm, then dress rehearsal at her dance studio for a show on the 19th from 3:30-5, then back to UNM to perform in a "Tap Jam". Then, of course, the show on Sunday. Good thing she's young! And of course, Kevin is at scuba class all afternoon and evening that Saturday. He might be able to do that morning delivery, at least. Between now and the cruise, she has two competitions and a recital. She will need the cruise more than any of us!

A "Groaner" for you country fans;

Kenny Rogers and his entourage are aboard his bus, driving to a
concert, when they have a flat tire. The mechanic hurriedly replaces
the tire, but he neglects to double-check the lug nuts. Later, as the
bus rounds a curve on a mountain road, the wheel comes off. The bus
plunges down the mountainside. Everybody is killed, except for a young
roadie. A reporter asks the kid if Kenny Rogers had any last words.
"Yes," said the roadie. "As the bus went over the edge, I heard Mr.
Rogers singing, 'You picked a fine time to leave me, loose wheel!'"

Matt has his military ball tonight for JROTC (Jim has the transportation duty).

My goal is to finish our taxes today. I guess it might get done if I stop "finding one more thing to do" prior to just sitting down and doing it. (Matt would love to know his Mom procrastinates (sp??) like he does at times. HA HA)

That's what I did yesterday. And that's why I was still running numbers at 10:00 last night. I should be able to enter it into the computer, and print it for the accountant today, but I have one area that concerns me, so I want to run those figures again. And yet....here I sit!

We want to see a picture of Matt all dressed up!!!

Back to the Dole Whip story. I took what I thought was a nifty picture that I was going to share but I havent figured out how to insert it. I am going to play with this PhotoBucket thing from Stacey's link.

It just figures, for the last 2 weeks my DD has been asking for pineapple and I would give her the samples in the produce section. So when I saw the recipe I thought perfect. So I made it a big deal out of making it for her and gave it to her. After I few minutes she looks at me as sweetly as possible and says "I am sorry Mommy, I dont really like pineapple ice cream" Ack! DH saves the day of course by saying he loves it and eats it ALL up! Mr. Wonderful.

I made the dole whip on Thursday night in my newly unpacked double bowl machine and it came out awesome, served it for dinner last night and everyone enjoyed!! This recipe is definately not weight curbing, sugar cream and then some more, I will have to do a lot more walking after this experiment!!!

Dinner? What are we having? What time should I send my family over?

I didn't make dinner (big surprise) because I had what I thought were 3 legitimate reasons. Jared had baseball practice (I thought)...Jordan was going to a movie (I thought)...and Jay has softball games. Turns out, Jared doesn't have practice, Jordan isn't going to a movie, and Jay's first game is late. Oops.
So they're hungry.

That calls for delivery!!

If it makes you feel any better the artwork has already been imported into the template. Now they only have to be printed and cut. It should go very very quickly.

We have less than 40 families so far so 5 sheets of magnet paper is all it will take and each DIS cabin will have roughly a 4 1/2 x 2 1/2" magnet. Yes for those of you with two cabins I'll put in two.

Thanks for making magnets for us all, you are spoiling us for all future cruises!!!

It is slightly milder than Mean Girls and if my DD was 10 I would think it would be a good one to see and have good conversation afterwards. She is actually pretty inquisitive. At three she wore me down with technical questions about how her "seed" got into my belly. Last week it was how many eggs do I have left, how many does she have..then she informed me you can tell if its a boy or girl by how many Xs they have.....

Too bad we live out in the sticks, where no one could find us. I am the "delivery" person. I have to go fetch it myself!
The "boys" left for the softball a little early and stopped and ate, and Jordan and I had frozen pizza. I didn't feel like going to get anything.

How clever is that??? Kids are really a lot more precocious now than they used to be.
When I was pregnant with Jared, Jay asked Jordan how the baby got in Mommy's tummy and she said "Mommy swallowed him!" :rotfl:

I've never had any trouble "talking truth" to my kids because my parents were very open with us. When I was in high school all the other girls knew they could ask me questions, because if I didn't already know, I could go ask my Mom and she wouldn't freak out about it.

Last night, Jordan said to me, out of the blue, "I love you". My response (after I said "I love you too") was "What did you do?". ;) She told me that she loved me because all of her friends think she has the coolest Mom. I've never believed in being my kids "friend"....I have a job to do as their Mom....but it's nice that the kids at least think I'm fair.

BTW - I'm pretty proud of this so I'm sharing it with you guys. Here's a design I came up with for the Member Cruise t-shirts. Don't know if it will be the one used or not but I'm still happy with it. Mark helped a lot.

Love the design and the design in the sand is such a great idea, how did you do that??

How is it that I always seem to end up talking to myself??? You'd think I'd take the hint one of these days.

At least I got a T.O.P. with myself!

Mary, that is AWESOME!!! You are very creative.

Thanks for taking on the task of making mini-magnets for all of us. You and Mark are really great. I can't wait to me you both ... and everyone else for that matter.

I saw the Scoopie surfing coloring page too and was thinking of doing something with it .. we'll see.

Dinner tonight .. hibachi place. WAY more expensive than what we expected. The girls were entertained though.

Angie

My kids love Hibachi and it is expesive but a great treat for them.

We had a great morning with horseback riding lessons. It is really a good experience in alot of ways.

Way to go Jim! Good luck to all the DDs with dance events and take lots of pictures.

Taxes, oh yes, we are "scheduled" work on those tonight (bet you see me here sometime:))

Time to run a few errands while I have a chance.
