Julia, If you have today's AJC, Page B2 (Metro) has an article "$1 million doesn't help on midterms" - about the UGA freshman from Dunwoody who won the $1m playing poker in Monte Carlo. My daughter "Rachel LeClair" is quoted in it! We had to laugh because the 2 quotes made her sound like a bit of an *airhead*!! :lmao:

Hey Laura,

I found the article online.

http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/metro/dekalb/stories/0321metpoker.html

It wasn't much of an article. It didn't even go in the reasons why/how this kid got to play in the tournament much less win $1M.

Oy... What a day! Know what I did?

I QUIT MY JOB!!!!!!!

I am so happy. The place was driving me absolutely nuts. Imagine... My boss actually expected me to put that God-awful place before my daughter and family. Uh, I think NOT! So I gave my two weeks' notice, and will probably be paroled before that. I sure hope so!

Ah... I feel better already.

As for the Med cruises, I think that's a little out of our price range. Bummer...

She made her dad sound like an airhead... :lmao:

Like...everyone KNOWS Freshman classes are huge at big universities :rotfl2:

No Med cruise for us. We are booked on the 5/5/07 Western, which is the last Magic sailing to the Caribbean before the east-bound repo cruise.

If DCL ever decides to go to Alaska, we would certainly have to try to work that one in! :sail:

Yep, you're right. But in the middle of the night, when I just couldn't sleep, Jim and I decided that I should just do it today. And it felt SO good!

Thanks for the congrats, everyone. I don't have another job, but plan on enjoying the summer with Erin. Then perhaps start my own company. Can't wait!

It definitely wasn't much of an article, but this reporter had talked to my daughter and Rachel had given her so many *pearls of wisdom* and the only part of the conversation that makes the paper is:

"That guy's in our class?" asked junior Rachel Leclair. "My dad asked me if I knew him. I said, 'Dad, there are like 30,000 students.' "

if you throw in organizational consulting, (I really need to clean out a few closets :teeth: ) and travel to Texas you're hired!

Hey all -- Just checking in. Very hectic day at the office. Soooo glad I am home. We are watching the original Willy Wonka on ABC Family.

Stacey -- hope you are having fun!

Kids started back to school yesterday after being off last week. I forgot how hectic the mornings are when we are all going in so many directions.

Hope Augie gets to feeling better! Been there, done that! My surgery was done arthroscopicly and wasn't bad.

Augie's was arthroscopic, too. He's feeling better. He can bend it more than 90 degrees now and that's good. Still a little swollen, but let's not get into that again....

Thanks for asking though.
