BTW, Diana & Kevin,

I LOVE the pictures of Alicia's dancing. So graceful and beautiful. Tori just saw them and commented how lovely they are. [She took this year off from dance and I can see she's really missing it.]

Ahh, she needs to go back! Why did she take a year off, if you don't mind my asking? 12 is a tough year, lots of growing going on. Some kids just need a creative outlet, and sports just don't work. We had hopes of her being a star soccer player (man, could she kick), but her heart just wasn't in it.

We moved to the other side of metro Atlanta last February. Tori finished up the year with her dance company, but it was really difficult getting her there. (traffic woes! )

Time just got away from us and we never found a comparable dance school on this side of town. Tori decided it was OK to take the year off. :confused3 For the past several months though, she's been anxious to get back to it!! :yay:

Thought you all might like the update..........

Had the visit today with the transplant team. Today was the start of getting onto the list. We met with Garry’s transplant physicians (Hepatologist) the transplant surgeon, coordinator and social worker. Garry had to have a great deal of lab work done, chest x-ray, and is scheduled for ultrasound and a stress test. These are considered part of the "pre-transplant" evaluation. The lab test results for some of the values will be used to form a MELD score. This score will determine where Garry falls on the recipient list. All of the testing will have to be done to have final approval for "listing". We also have to attend a transplant education class prior to being on the waiting list. The class is only held every other Wednesday, this weeks class is full so we will be attending class on April 5th. The required dental checkup will be done by his dentist at his apt next week. They also require a TB test be completed.

The U of M transplant team meets weekly on Thursdays for presentation of potential transplant candidates. Garry’s physician and coordinator will make a preliminary presentation of Garry’s case at this weeks meeting. They will not officially put him on the list until all of his tests have been completed. Once the preliminary presentation is done they will have a better idea of where he falls on the list.

Everyone that we spoke with today emphasized the importance of the lab work. Garry will have to repeat most of it every 1-3 months and repeat the ultrasound every 6 months. and visits with the transplant physician at least every 3 months. Could be a long road ahead!!!
