That one is no longer owned by 'the mothership'... it was sold... is it even still open????

Also, keeping in mind, we're in OHIO.....NOTHING is open right now amusement park wise. ;)

Well, Kings Island was open in December for Winter Fair or something like that.

I absolutely got chills and my eyes welled up with tears when they did the military tribute prior to the Shamu show. WOW!
And, from personal experience in the 'trenches' of the company, it isn't just lip service, and doesn't just happen as a crowd pleaser... which makes it all the more meaningful in my eyes.

And I loved how they played the National Anthem at park opening. So much for political correctness with all of the foreign visitors, but HEY, you're in AMERICA...deal with it!! :)

ohiominnie <----not a fan of "political correctness"
That makes 2 of us!

(But it makes me CRAZY when everyone is waiting to go in, and can definitely HEAR the song, yet make no attempts to even teach their children the significance of it by asking them to stand quietly for one minute. I KNOW kids are excited and want to get inside to see Shamu, but a little civics lesson might go along way.) OK... getting down off my soapbox... but then again, I'd love to be taller!!

Wait a sec....that doesn't make sense. Buy a 1-day pass and then come back 100 times this year for NO EXTRA CHARGE????

Yep... they make plenty of $$ on you selling you small dead fish to feed to the animals that need to be fed anyway...

I went to King's Island when I was in college... I had a severe case of mono, and rode all the roller coasters anyway, not really thinking about the fact that I could have ruptured my spleen at any minute... there was no way I was missing out on all that!!!!!

Irene - please forgive Jim this one error. However I do think he needs to do the research about May so that it doesn't happen again. Plus I think he needs to plan something special for us all at the Friday night Bon Voyage party. :goodvibes

Hey..where is the Friday night Bon Voyage party? I wanna come.

We were talking about getting together at JB's fish camp in NSB (using initials because I don't know how to spell it). Jim is in charge of finding out if the rock shrimp will be in season. :)

BTW - less than 30 posts to go and we'll be the #1 thread!

They even asked the military to stand at the begging of the show. And there were banners at the front of the entrance.

I get tears with the pipe and drum show at Epcot.....

I'm still here, aren't I??? (And that was many years BEFORE I jumped out of an airplane... I guess some of us never outgrow the 'It won't happen to me' stage!!)

This year, when you buy a 1-day pass, you can turn it into an AP automatically and use it for the entire year at no extra charge.

I love Sea World... I go there sooo often, and really never get sick of it. I have a 2-day conference there on Thursday and Friday, and will definitely spend a little time there on Friday afternoon, as my last meeting is scheduled to end at 11AM. I can't go there without riding Krakken at least once, and visiting the dolphin nursery. (Yes, I ride Krakken even when dressed for a meeting... I just always remember to wear shoes that will stay on).

I have yet to see the new Dolphin show (Blue Horizons), as its never been at a time that's convenient to my meetings... (dont'cha know they should work around MY schedule...????) maybe this time.

From our Timeshare, we could see the tower and Kraken(at night). We've been to SW twice. One time was not a very enjoyable one. They did not have a dolphin show. They were in the middle of training for a new one, probably THIS new one. We DID get to see Shamu. That was cool. And NO, we didn't get wet. But we were in the soak zone. It was in October, so maybe that's a DOWN time for them.

Well-- I have never gotten to go on an Eastern Cruise. Our first 7 day cruise in 2002 was supposed to be an Eastern. About 6 months before cruising we got called to let us know that the cruise was being changed to a Western. It was when they first came out with the westerns. They offered to let us change it, but we already had airline tickets, condo reservations, etc. so we kept it, thinking we would do an Eastern next time. Now here wer are in 2006 and the week we want to cruise now becomes a Western with 2 stops at CC. Now I love the part of CC, but not so much that we are on another Western.

Now I know people can say you can change your dates, however, we like to cruise that last week of May because the kids are just out of school and it is so much cheaper than going in May. So, maybe someday I can go on an Eastern cruise

I'm with you 100% on the respect issue. Some kids today don't even know what it symbolizes. My DH and I hate when we're at a Yankee game and some people don't take off their hats or teach their children that. My boys know right away to take your hat off. Or, when people are talking and not paying attention during the National Anthem. I feel like my mother saying all this, but it's true.
