That would have been FUN!!itdjbw said:We have seen people get left and have to catch the pilot boat to the ship, often the ship won't stop just slow and they have to climb on, enough to make you get back on time!!![]()
Dancind said:Was that an excursion through Princess? What if you had refused to run? Just a thought.
You might be able to tell, but that wasn't one of my fondest cruising memories.

Dancind said:So, a question for you cruise veterans. What would be the best thing to do, if you knew your family was about to be left by the ship?

Although Kevin has promised to NEVER cut it that close again, and I would kill him if he did, it could happen on one of these dive excursions. I wasn't thinking clearly at the time, but I guess I should get off the ship with our passports and our valuables. They wouldn't have much luck getting to the next port without passports and money, right?

When ever you book an independent trip there is always a chance something will go wrong. Even the best laid plans can go wrong with no fault of ours. Boat break down, someone having a diving emergency, etc.....
That is a chance we take and a reason why I always carry a passport and AMX with me when I leave the ship. With those two items I can go anywhere. I can also buy something really nice at the next port for Sharon.![]()
Dancind said:Which brings up another question. Where do you put these rather valuable items while you're diving? Do you leave them on the boat, trusting the driver not to decide to take the good stuff and leave you there? Kevin could probably answer this, but he's gone on pick up duty.
Whoops- sorry... hard to keep that thing empty- so few PMs allowed and so much info I need to save about the cruise/etc. (and not enough time-okay I'm lazy- to transfer all that to emails or something)wdwgoose said:HAY BbB empty your PM's ITS FULL

I didn't mean ALONE alone. I meant alone without someone capable of saving people/etc. like dive masters and instructors- that type of thing. Garry already told me they've only dove for a couple of years- that's the same as Jeff! I meant out there with divers same as himself without a more experienced diver/instructor... not completely alone! LOLI hope he wouldn't dive alone! That is against the buddy rules of scuba!!
