Make sure that you document the fact that you aren't getting any calls after 5... they did this a a former job of mine, and it took them awhile to realize that it really wasn't worth having somebody there for nothing.
oh yeah i am...i have to keep a call log anyways....im just hoping it wont last long..

Amanda,
do you at least have internet access while you're there and not taking calls? or can you read a book? or do something other that SIT there doing nothing? THAT would drive me nuts.
Oh, I do have interent access but I am not allowed to use it for personal use. And I am not doing nothing, there is plenty of work to do. Actually, without the phone ringing I am able to accomplish a lot more, if it weret causing such havoc at home I wouldn't mind it. But once I get the kids home, my night is shot....

got a question for you, HH....

After reading this thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1021053&highlight=insulation

I got to thinking about insulation. Our upstairs is pretty cold (doesn't heat rise?) Now, part of it could be that sometimes we have our heat 'n glo on and it is in the same room as our thermostat, so therefore it shuts off the heat pump and forced air is not being...well, FORCED, upstairs.

But even when the heat 'n glo ISN'T on, the upstairs is quite chilly. KT's room, in particular, is just downright cold (doesn't help it's the corner room on the windiest side of the house.)

But, I'm wondering if insulation "wears out." The house we live in was built in the 70's. Chances are, no other owner did anything about anything in the attic (it's a scary place) So, could it be possible that we need to have some more insulation blown in there?

Hmmmmmm....

I can answer this one! Because we have the same issue. We had insulation blown in when we moved into our house 17 years ago. Kevin was telling me that it's time to do it again, because it's compressed. So yes, it does "wear out".

I've been out all day, finally caught up. You guys were busy today!

A few years ago, I instituted "bagel mornings" at our house. Twice a week, Kevin and Alicia would go get bagel together before school. At the time, he was involved in so many outside activities that he barely saw her. That was until scuba diving. It's now Kevin's ONLY hobby, and he quickly figured out that including Alicia gave him more leeway on how much time he spent away. So I agreed to it, and it has really made a difference in their relationship. Only problem, I didn't realize how nerve racking it would be to have your only child "somewhere" out there in the ocean for several hours a day.

It doesn't always work though. Case in point, Kevin is at Blue Hole this weekend. I am here being the dance taxi.

Ah...HA!
Wonderful!
Is it messy? The only attic access is in KT's closet. Seems like everytime we have to do something up there her stuff gets covered in insulation bits.

Hmm...how can I convince Mike to hang around here. I just checked. His last post was yesterday at 1:09 pm. Since then there have been 16 pages of posts!!! :earseek: :earseek:

Stacey - can you post a link to the ring? I'd love to see it since that is my birthstone too.

I didn't know stacey's ebay username. I tried her dis name. Didn't work. Tried her email address, didn't work. But I did the search based on her email. It said there IS a user who has feedback rating of 217 (100% positive) but I wasn't allowed to know her username b/c I didn't have any dealings or transactions with that user. HA! NO TRANSACTIONS? Check this thread.

So I had to search all aquamarine rings with only 1 bid with less than 1 hour left to see if the high bidder had a feedback rating of 217 with 100% positive. Whew. No wonder I couldn't exercise today....that took a lot of time! :lmao:

I've been watching an item on eBay. It's down to one hour from ending, and I finally bid on it. It hasn't even had a lot of people watching, but if I get out-bid, I'll know now that the seller has someone "upping" the bid. But I'll be gone, and won't be able to raise mine. Oh well.
I always wait until the end and then sneak in and NAB! pirate:

Now I really am outta here!!

Why don't use the Esnipe service? Put your bid out there and let them bid it for you with only 10 seconds to go. I love it!
