I guess our Y's indoor pool is heated to 86 too. When we go in, the girls wind up coming out with blue lips. I guess it's ok if you're getting exercise but when you just playing, it's COLD. I like pool water at bath temperature, thank you

I hear ya on this one................We have a solar heater for our pool, because Fran does NOT like to "inch" her way into the water. We keep the thermostat set at 90. Aah.........just glide into the water. I figure in FL, if your body temp. is 98.6, 90 is cooler feeling.....especially when it is 98 outside in the shade.

LEt's swap - that way we both get new stuff......

Hmm... you'd end up with a deck of cards, a few Hot Wheels cars, some old magazines, an empty vase, photos I haven't gotten around to hanging on the walls, and some other miscellaneous 'stuff'. Nothing exciting...

Ahother top with Stacey - we really have to stop meeting like this!!!

- narrowing down - ribs for Stacey - chicken or steak for the rest??? We may kidnap you and bring you back to our house for dinner. John's in the mood to cook...

chocolate?

BINGO! All of the above sounds perfect....and chocolate lover's ALL! :flower:

Parchment paper to line the cooke sheets! - best investment for cleaning cookie sheets - just crumple up and throw away...no scraping burnt crumbs...

better yet, get the kids to wash up the cookie sheets!!! :rotfl2:

No-stick Reynold's Wrap....:guilty: :confused3 I am not a cook, I've never lied about that. And now you all know that when I DO cook, I'm a lazy one!

All this Christmas cookie talk is making me hungry!! We need to bake some chocolate chip cookies!! Is there ANY other type???

Hey Hon, Alicia isn't busy is she?? :teeth:

I used the Toll House break-n-bakes. We have choc chip and sugar. And I even decorated the sugar. Okay...I squirted red & green frosting from a can on them.

What do you mean, I don't win Mother of the Year???

Okay....here I go....I am going to finally do it.......I'm going......

TO PACK. :goodvibes

I just made about 6 dozen of those the other day. With Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla and nuts. Mmmmm.....

so much for that low fat diet!

That day I also made sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, Christmas spritz, snickerdoodles, and chocolate/peanut butter buckeyes.

yeah...diet. what diet?

and then Mike brought home the tray from his nurse...thumbprint cookies, ritz/chocolate cookies, rum balls, lemon squares, iced cookies, fudge, chex mix, etc etc etc.....

wow!

Diet and Holidays are mutually exclusive, right? One of the Moms made the best frosted sugar cookies we've ever had for the Talent Show last weekend. The icing had an almond flavoring. I need to call for the recipe. I'm sure the main ingredient is butter.

OM, sorry to hear about Grandma Lightbulb! I'm sure there's some reason in her head that she won't wait and see. Maybe she just wants a nice long time to recover, with no deadline. It makes sense from some vantage points.

Stacey, if you're packing, you must feel better! Is everyone else healthy? Besides Megan, that is?

The bad part of about the Toll House Break-n-bakes is that they never make it to the cookie sheet... :rolleyes1 Just can't bring myself to be a "mom" and give the lecture about raw cookie dough...Tough to say "no" when my mouth is full...

That's exactly what I told Mike last night...that maybe, with the stress of HAVING to get better by May gone, she'll be able to relax and tolerate chemo better. Dunno. Maybe that thought of pressure to get well---or at least well enough to make the rest of the family happy---was dragging her down.

Whatever. We argued with her enough. It's her decision. I'm not going to FORCE her to do something she doesn't want to do.

But it does open the door for us to go back to late dining....although I think we'll keep it at early until it's closer just so we're sure (easier to go from main to late at the last minute)

My mom is always lecturing me about eating raw cookie dough....it's bad for you. it's got raw eggs, etc etc.

I have recently explained to her that I've been eating raw cookie dough on a regular basis for over THIRTY years!!!! :)

In fact, surprisingly, fitday.com has it programmed in where you can enter "raw cookie dough other than chocolate" into your daily food log. ;)

Ok, should get moving. i have 4 little girls coming over tonight---friends of KT's from the play. Nick is going to "Peter Crachitt's" house so at least he won't be here to bug the girls! :)

But you know....little girls expect a very clean house! :rotfl2:

Stay on early... we need a fun bunch of EARLY people, too!!!!

All this talk of cookie dough... am I the only person alive who DOESN'T like raw cookie dough??? :confused3 (Ick!!!!... same goes for licking the bowl of cake batter- blech!)

I probably made about 40 dozen cookies all together. Hmmm...I've got about 5 dozen left once I cookied up the neighbors, the USPS guy, the UPS guy, etc. :) Of course, if you send me your address, HH, I'll whip ya up a fresh batch. :)
