Jared and I were watching footage of people being trampled as they tried to get into the stores this morning. I'm sorry, that's just insanity!

I waited til 8AM to go out... by that time, all the 'early birds' were there and gone, but the early sales all lasted til 11 or 12... I wasn't searching for any of the "BIG" deals, so it didn't matter much. By the time I got there at 8, I got a parking spot near the front door, and didn't wait in the checkout line either... perfect timing.

We put the tree up today and did most of the decorating... Ray left for NH this morning... his 20th class reunion is tonight. It just wasn't worth it for all 4 of us to fly up there... besides... there's 6 inches of snow on the ground there... no thank you!!!

The kids and I are watching Polar Express... it was better in IMAX 3D, but we'll have to settle for HD...

Wow, Kiki...got the tree up. I'm impressed! We'll just put a small one up this year, maybe the fiber optic tree...and my favorite "bear" tree. It looks like a real tree, in a burlap sack, and there's a baby bear hanging onto it.

I have my new Mickey and Minnie figurine out, and will probably put out a few other things this weekend...but not much.
I don't want to have to come home from the cruise and have all that to put away, along with laundry and catching up at work.

Well, if I were going on a Christmas cruise, I might think differently, too... we always have a big house party in early Dec (Dec 10 this year), so its always my goal to be 100% done with decorating, shopping, wrapping, etc. before that date. This is the latest I have EVER started my shopping, though. I'm having such a hard time with it this year!!!

The last few years, cruise or no, I just haven't wanted to decorate. We used to even put a big Santa out front of the shop....I don't know if it's because I'm getting old, or if it's because the kids are getting older....maybe a combination of things. I just am too darn tired all the time.

I know I've always liked being done with all of it early, by Thanksgiving if possible, so that I can just enjoy the holidays and not feel pressured.
Maybe after I've had a few days of being "done" with the wrapping, cards, etc...I'll get excited about decorating.

Kiki...your party is a great incentive for getting things done. Maybe I should have a party, might get me off my be-hind!

Good morning Cruisers!

We sail in 26 weeks!

Woo Hoo - Another week closer to cruising!

Mary - Lots of sniffles and coughs going around here, take care. I really miss the anticipation of last Christmas and the cruise.

Definitely true.... hard to believe it's almost been a year...

Good Morning All - A successful day yesterday. Mother and I left at 9:00 for our scaled down shopping. We hit Bed, Bath and Beyond before relaxing at STarburks, her first time. And then a Hallmark store. then it was time to return home for a turkey sandwich. Not the power shopping of days gone by - but still we managed to keep up the tradition. A good day.

She is now tucked in at home and we are going to put up some outside decorations, as per past years, this is the day. First, we need to wash the remaining hurricane green slime off the gutters.

I am too down about the garden to put up any yard displays this year. perhaps I shall change my mind as the day goes by. One area still has all the trees bent over, so lights will not be appropriate.

We may have lunch with friends on their way back from the Keys.

No tree up yet, we have a fresh one and I am not sure when Publix gets them in.

Thoughts and prayers to al of you with very ill loved ones. That gives me another reason to be thankful for the day with my Mother yesterday.

Sam completed his Nitrox class last night. I did not know we had homework until 5:00 and the class was at 6:00 - so I will have to go another time.

Have a good day.

Hi, all! Hope y'all had a GREAT Thanksgiving! We sure did. Daughter Rachel is home from UGA (Go DAWGS!!! Sorry, Angie!!). She's been working on an important paper so my computer's been tied up!!

Scoopie arrived safely this afternoon! Tori will be excited to see him when she gets home Sunday!

Pam, prayers for your Dad and Aunt.

It's going to be a Dawgs vs. Tigers match-up in one week. GEAUX TIGERS!

Good morning all!

My parents are leaving this morning to head back to Louisiana. It will nice to have our house back to ourselves but at the same time it will be a challenge for us to keep up with the girls, cooking & housework! We'll adjust.

No Black Friday shopping for us. I saw all of the crazies standing in line over night then others getting trampled ... NO THANKS!!!

Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Just looked at my countdown timer. It says "6 months, 1 day". I can't believe we're down to 6 months. Most of us started around 18 months!!!

Good Morning All - I was going to sleep in this am but I forgot the dog can't tell time!

Yep, know the situation well! Our silly cat has the same problem.....

Hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. It was quiet at our house with just me, DH, DS and DD from KY. DD and I did power shopping yesterday; up at 4 and home by 1:30. We didn't even stop at the stores where the parking lot was full. We had to wait in line around 15 minutes at the first place we stopped, but the rest was no waiting. Came home to find that DH and DS had gone shopping. I've never been so shocked! We have 99% of the shopping and wrapping done. A first for us. Can't believe that 6 months from today we'll be at the port. :cool1:

That's a good one!

I have to say, that's about the only "good" training Megan did with the Grandpuppy. He sleeps late, like she did!

'Course, I'm one to talk....I slept till 10:00 this a.m. Did exactly what I said I was going to do....have been reading my mail and lounging. Now it's time to get started.

SIX MONTHS! Cool. It will actually go pretty fast. What's hard to imagine, is that means that school will be out then, too. The year is really going pretty fast.

HOORAY for you guys who got some shopping done yesterday....and didn't get trampled!!

Have a great day! TTFN

Morning all! We saw HP again last night, so Kevin could see it. Enjoyed it the second time, too.

More prayers coming your way, Pam. Please keep us updated on your Dad.
