And now, I'm wondering if they do like they did when I was in school, and have all the candidates escorted onto the football field by their fathers?

You mean, the way they did it back in the dark ages? I don't know, but you better find out quick!

Jordan just got home .......her big news for the day....she was nominated for Homecoming Princess. I think I should be happy for her. So what exactly IS my problem, anyway? Why can I not quite get into all this?? (bad mommy, bad mommy)

Mommy will get over it.......Mommy prob. is a grown up hippie and we did not appreciate the establishments traditions....Bet you had a Homecoming King.... :rotfl2:

Today is another day - Mommy is happy today :) right?

And we are sure that this will be a special time for Jordan - Congrats... princess:

She has a dress...so we're good there. Unless she decides it isn't "regal' enough....
And she already has a hair appointment set up. Can't do the nails (heh heh) because to cheer, they have to keep them cut really short...hadn't thought about the flowers....the shoes cost twice what the dress did....and there's a giant NO on the limo.
The worst part?? The first day of our cruise is Homecoming Saturday. So we'll miss it. And now, I'm wondering if they do like they did when I was in school, and have all the candidates escorted onto the football field by their fathers? I may just die if they do, and I have to miss that. And who will walk with her?? Oh, this is not good........

Speaking of shoes - anyone out there a size 8 and want to get rid of cast offs - was packing last night and both of my black pairs has a small hole in the sole - I hate shoes and I hate shoe shopping - so I will wear holey shoes.....

Hey - no picking on Scoopie or KikiKaren - Hedgie really is a touch on the butt tubby side - I should know - I had to make a pirate vest........

Yeah, what's up with that, anyway??? I think Scoopie is getting a big head!

See above post - no picking on Scoopie -----

Big HAT - Big HAT -- Scoopie is still the same sweet cone he always was....now with a Mickey Hat.....

Will now pack Scoopie in the back back and say TATA - may have a chance to catch posts at work...

Have a great Day!

:flower: Good morning cruisers! :flower:

Happy Thursday!

Stacey, sorry to hear that you'll miss Homecoming. Do you know some other Mom or Dad who can take pictures. Back in the day at my school the girls were escorted on the field by some of the football players. Good luck in finding out what the tradition is by you. Hopefully it works out so you can enjoy the cruise and she can have a great time as a princess. Hey just thought she'll be a princess at the same time you are on Princess! I'm sure you can find her something special on board to regonize the event!

Hi everyone. Last night my dad and I were watching Simply Wine. It's a t.v show that we love to watch. Usally I cann't watch it,because it is on late at night.but anyway last night it was at EPCOT!!!!!!!!!!! They even had BAMFIE my dad was so excited. There was some he had never saw or tried. But it is a very ood show on wine. We love it. :earsboy: :cat: :mickeybar :pug:

Hi Lisa! Sounds like a nice show and anything showing Epcot is good!

Carving pumpkins ranks right up there on my 'least favorite things to do list' (right along with coloring Easter eggs).

Last night, I went out and bought a FAKE pumpkin... pre-carved, with a light in it... looks real from the road, but without the mold and funky smell that develops after a day or two on the porch. (Florida is NOT the ideal place to let a pumpkin sit on your porch.) No more gourd mutilation for me!!

You do more than we do. Some day Matt and Lisa will be describing their holidays to their kids, "Christmas trees, Pumpkins, Eggs....we never did any of that. Your grandparents never did any of the holiday fun things..."

Oh well, so be it. I can live with that.

That's my girl. At least someone gets excited watching wine shows with me.

The show was produced in 2003 so it was an old Wine and Food, but it put us in the spirit to try spirits.

Fine Living is becoming our favorite family channel.

Good morning all!

Congrats to Jordan on making the homecoming court! Stacey, I hope you & Jay don't miss anything.

Irene, thanks for the well wishes. I'm not sure if surgery is going to be a go ... sinuses are still bothering me!

We have :umbrella: , :umbrella: , and more :umbrella: today. I think it's from Tammy. I can't believe that we got to the Ts this hurricane season! Hope your weather is better in FL.

Pumpkins ... we paint ... my excuse is that my kids are too young to carve ... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!! I agree w/ those in FL ... to hot to have a pumpkin on the stoop and getting all moldy, mushy & smelly by Halloween.

Today is my last day at the office ... working from home tomorrow then off on Mon.

Karen, Karen, Karen,

What is happening with your beloved Red Sox???

Let's not talk about it... they are back to their pathetic selves that we have come to know and tolerate for the past 86 years... but, on the bright side,

HOCKEY IS BACK!!!!!!!!! YEA!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: I am a MUCH bigger hockey fan than baseball fan. It's hard to be a hockey fan in FL though... all we've got to watch is the Lightning and the Panthers... granted, Tampa did win the last Stanley Cup, but it will never be a HOCKEYTOWN like Boston.

Of course, my brother had to call at the start of the Bruins game last night, just to remind me that they were on 'his' TV. I won't resort to paying for the NHL cable package, though... not enough time to watch. (They lost, but, its a long season...)

And a TOP to start the day!!! pirate:

Angie

Pre-MBA school- John was the creative carving wiz with pumpkins...Disney was usually our prefered theme - although he did do HP on year. I'll see if I can dig up some pictures and post them.

I agree, Texas isn't fun because they don't last long - he usually would take Halloween day off of work to work on his creation and then they were in the garbage the next day.

At least your team isn't known for a billy goat or an overzealous fan causing the self destruction...

I was a huge hockey fan in college - Bowling Green had a great hockey team and a huge following. Chicago had some funky blackout rule with the Blackhawks and Houston isn't exactly known for hockey either - although we do have the "B" league Aeros...My year and a half in Canada was another story - Go Flames!!!
