The pic was from a school fundraiser. A portrait photographer set up appts. at the elem. school. We paid $25 to get a "free" 11x14 canvas portrait of the family. $20 of the $25 went directly the school. I'm sure the photographer banks on getting extra orders. Anyway, of course our family portrait came out absolutely HORRIBLE. My eyes are 1/2 closed. That's the one that we got as our 11x14. It'll be going in a closet somewhere ... maybe to scare the mice away. There were 2 different poses of the girls that came out great and one of Bruce & I together that I liked. I spent way too much money for very few prints but I did get Christmas cards out of the b&w of the girls.

Tonight I asked Bruce if he wanted to go out next weekend since my parents will be here. He 'fessed up that he tried to get a babysitter for this weekend - spur of the moment but no luck. I was floored that MY husband would think to surpise me with a date night. I'm impressed even though we didn't get to go out. I'm sure we will get to next weekend.

Ah, Ang. Your girls are seriously cute. I like the black & white effect.

Alicia is at dance rehearsal, so Kevin & I went to our favorite gourmet pizza and microbrew place. I had pizza with spinach, roasted garlic, and walnuts on it, among other things. Sounds weird but it's very tasty!

Diana, I think it sounds good. I wish you would change your mind and come with us to the F&W fest...I had such a good time pal ing around with you and Kev and Alaicia bakc in June......I would love to be ba able to talk and hang with you again but with none of my kids present this time! hehe!!

Hi everyone..... I wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I am excited to join your thread (better late than never??? ), and even more excited to be joining you all on this cruise. Sorry, but I don't think there is ANY way I can possibly catch up on the past posts... You guys have been BUSY!

I am Linda, my dh is Wayne and we have a ds Robbie who will be 8 for the cruise and a dd Emily who will be 5 for the cruise. This will be our second DCL cruise, and we would all be very excited.... if anyone knew about it but me. I booked last week (was trying to book for dh's 40th birthday in June, but rates for this cruise were so much better, and I couldn't resist the double scoop!!!!) and I am going to try my best to keep it a suprise for as long as possible.

So I am so glad to have such an active chatty bunch to share my excitement with.... it might help me to keep my secret a little longer!!!!!

I agree! Great picture! I want to have a picture done of both my kids again... haven't done one in 3 years or so.

Our school photos included B&W this year... they just came in today. I'll have to scan them in the morning so I can share... Elizabeth HATES hers, because with her orthodontic 'contraption', she's got two 'bumps' below her bottom lip... and of course when SHE looks at the picture, thats ALL she sees. (I'm sure if it wasn't that, there would be something ELSE about them that she didn't like... it just goes with the age.)

Nice try for him with pulling off a date night... too bad it didn't work out. Finding a sitter stinks!! We are trying to find a NEW sitter by next Saturday night so we can celebrate our 15th anniversary... Elizabeth has a sleepover, so it's just Christopher... I refuse to use my old sitter again. (See post about 1000 posts ago about her).

And Scuba's would agree... Stonewood is no place for a picky 8 year old!!!

Welcome aboard Linda & family! Just right on in & don't feel like you have to read through the past posts - it's all fluff anyway!

I also have a daughter Emily. She will be 5 on the cruise as well. Her birthday is in Aug. There are a couple of other 5 year old girls on the cruise as well.
