Looks like a cool place. What about a pre-cruise dinner the night before we sail.

We can easily be coerced into dinner at JB's... after all, by then, the fridge will be pretty empty, (you know that pre-vacation fridge cleaning so you don't return home to find 'science projects' in the fridge), and we'll need to eat SOMEWHERE!!! Besides, its the last day of school- what better way to celebrate!

On the 10 day cruise the couple who made the shirts delivered them to who they could before sailing day (so we could wear them) and the rest they passed out at the port. GaRry came down to WDW a few days early and made lots of stops including out by the Scuba's. We then stopped by the Scuba's to pick up our box we had sent ahead and got our shirts.

On the Member Cruise we just finished the woman who was doing the shirts had them done well in advance (by 3-4 months) and mailed them out to everyone.

Hope this helps.

Maria, you should do it whichever way seems easiest to you. The Scubas accept shipments, but may not have capacity to carry them to the ship. They've got to take lots of wine, you know. Mailing could be a PITA. Do try to collect before the cruise, though. It's got to be too confusing to have people paying you during the cruise!

Of course, we could pay you with shipboard credits. Either by calling DCL prior to sailing or stopping by guest services once we are there. :) I found that easier than carrying a bunch of cash and not having the correct change.

Back from the dentist - two teeth re-filled - Goodybye silver fillings.

Cannot talk, might as well post....

Maria, we did this with the reminder bands for our November cruise - granted the postage was a lot less.

Those who wanted them early - sent a check and a stamped, addressed envelope to the purchaser --- It worked well. Again reminder bands take no postage at all, plus we NEEDED them before the cruise.....

I concur that you should do whatever is easier.....let me see how much "luggage" we need to tote (dive gear now, formal wear etc) for our Novembre cruise....if we have room for a box of T-shirts, for May, I will let you know...Does that make sense?

So did you have air between the filling and the tooth?

Matt will be a year older and should be able to handle more weight! :rotfl2:

That's the spirit!

GaRry - I think you need to convince Vicki to come on this cruise as well. After all she needs to free up Lisa so she can sprint for first in line. :)

That is debatable. The fillings did rise when I went diving, but my dentist "poo-poo's" the concept of fillings creating problems if there is no infection. However, after speaking with "older" friends, they assured me this is possible, because it happened to them. The 2 fillings were cracked, so yes, air is possible. I copied the "diving dentist" article for the dentist.....he still was not convinced. My money, my teeth, my peace of mind....the worst 2 are now history.....We will see about the others later. These fillings are only (****) years old.....anyway. :rotfl:

We won't be around to do a night before cruise meet. We opted to stay at our timeshare in Orlando cause hubby wants to go to WDW before cruise(who am I to complain?) I will be very jealous, though. We'll see what really happens between now and then.

Maria
Maria, we will be at WDW before the cruise, then will drive over to the port on Saturday morning. We'll be flyind down on the 23rd and staying at Tropical Palms resort, on the southeast side of WDW. Not sure of our exact plans once we're there, though.

Question for you drs. & nurses out there ...

Went to give blood today for my upcoming surgery. I intended on giving so that I wouldn't have to use donor blood. The dr. ordered that I give 3 pints of blood ... or is it units??? Anyway, since I don't weigh the minimum weight for giving blood, they couldn't take the whole pint. So does that mean that I won't be giving as much as what the dr. anticipates needing???? Or is that he requested 3 units and not 3 pints? Should I recruit family & friends that are the same blood type to give on my behalf (if that's even allowed)?

I guess I'll have to call the nurse tomorrow to let her know.

It's units... pints is what they used to say - even though it was not usually a pint.

I doubt that you can have others donate for you - that's called a directed donation and not normally done. Having your own blood on standby is ok - but they have to go through so much to clear other peoples blood that they normally don't do it. Call and see what they say.

Sandi,

Is your sig line right? "The few, the proud one, the fizzles"??? :rotfl2:

Couldn't figure it out, so I used babelfish translator on it.......

Hey there, HH....question for you....

Does this look right?

Just noticed this today....It wasn't like this when I left for vacation. This light is on the front porch and birds have been nesting in it for a couple of years. Mike took the glass out and the receptacle was FILLED with nesting material and the entire inside is SCORCHED.

Did we dodge a bullet with this one?

I'd say those birds are from Michigan.

WOW. I would say yes, those fixtures are designed to be fireproof if something happens inside them, to a point.

Looks odd to say the least!! The problem is the scorching! If the mud/nesting materials have acted like an conductor, then the wiring insulation is probably cooked and is hard and brittle. This could lead to failure and possibly a short, maybe even a fire. You might want to take the unit apart and check the wiring. If so, then get it replaced before you activate it again, just to be safe!! :earseek:

Damn those Michigan birds!!! Especially since they traveled so far!!!
