Hmm... now that you mention it... it didn't rain here YESTERDAY, and somebody-who-shall-remain-nameless-who-lives-nearby WASN'T here.... coincidence???? Maybe not!!!


(And it hasn't rained yet today, either!)

However, he left on Friday and we had a rainy weekend, so I don't think he is responsible for the rain. If this weather is in any way going to prevent or lessen the number of school days missed to hurricanes, let's have them now. I can't take another start, stop, restart, stop, etc school year.

I give her credit for at least trying this project. My annual scrapbooking project of our Disney Christmas Cruise is about all I have ever attempted. And, I have Lisa help me with that. She loves "artsy / crafty" projects much more than I do. On the 10-day Cruise, one of the members of our thread (sea-u-later) even had a scrapbooking class. We had become such good friends with some of the people from our thread that we allowed Lisa to go to a few events with them, minus me. She built a gingerbread house with a Mom from one family (Vicki), a Dad from another family (Paul), and I don't know who else was a part of the DIS family. At the scrapbooking, Lisa went scrapbooking with Karen & KT and I think even ended up learning to crochet from TKD Lisa. I on the other hand, enjoyed a movie and the spa while she was busy with her "other" family.

I wish I had thought of it sooner. This past weekend would have been the time to have gone. Now, I am back to work (and unfortunately she is coming with me each day and is VERY bored.) She is behaving excellently, but it is a long day for her. We thought the owners' nephew would be there this week and then they could have driven the golf cart around the property, gone fishing in the lake behind the plant, watched movies, etc. A friend of his stayed after the races so he hasn't been into work this week.

Maybe later in the summer or some weekend in the fall will work out.

You're absolutely right about the on-again, off-again school year- I can't do it again! Luckily, (or unluckily, depending how you look at it), after Frances, our office had no phone service for 2 weeks, so my house became 'beer central' because we needed high speed internet access to communicate with 'the mother-ship' in St. Louis. I had everyone calling me on their cellphones telling me which reports to run, what to access to order, etc., etc. None of it was anything that was part of my job, so it was like walking an idiot through your job over the phone. (And some days, they'd show up at my door...)

Cool! I ended taking a bunch of DISers kids to the Magic show on our 11/27 cruise, because they were going to a wine tasting...

Aw man! Well taht stinks! Here is hoping the two of can get some much deserved pampering at a spa! I know my DD loves it when I take her to get a pedicure with me and she is only 8 going on 18!

Me, at that point- I had no idea how to do their jobs... I'd get into a screen that I had never seen before, and then have to fudge my way though it to make tractor trailers of beer show up on our loading dock day after day... I guess it worked... it all showed up!!! (And let me tell you, hurricane relief workers, power crews, and phone crews drink A LOT of it!!!)

I don't think it was prayer that helped me.....but I'm thankful for docs who know how to nip and tuck! Three C-Sections.....what can I say??

Please, send us some of that rain. Heard on the radio today that July 7th is supposed to be the beginning of our "monsoon" season....rain, we hope.....but they say it won't be happening for at least another week.
You know when it will rain here? When I want to fly somewhere. One raindrop and they close down the airport in Phoenix.

Good for you!!!! All of our cruises have been without our kids (well... the first one created one of them, but that's a different story). We used to cruise without the kids every year- it was a nice break, and they got 'grandparent time'.

It's a good thing I booked our upcoming cruise early... after Elizabeth's orthodontic consultation today, I won't be booking any more cruises for awhile! I could finance a small country for that price!
