Yep - I am most definitely a Macintosh fan. We have multiple computers (I'm afraid to say how many.....)

Frances and I both have Powerbooks - hers is a 12" and mine is 15". We are networked wired and wirelessly throughout the house. One of the things that still astounds me is how easy it is when Frances (techno illiterate) travels and all she has to do is plug in the ethernet - or select up the wireless network and it automatically connects.

With MS Office 2004 you can read/write/alter Excel/Word etc. The only thing to be aware of is any proprietary software that you might have to run for something. While I have Virtual PC (let's me run Windows XP on the Mac) it is fairly slow - usable but slow.

You can't beat the design/size/usefulness of the Powerbooks. Plenty of ways to get them fairly cheaply too..... Frances PB is a refurb - same Apple warranty - and $$$ less than new.

BTW - we have a Dell Color Laser networked to the Macs - and if I had to chose a PC (non gaming) I'd probably get a Dell.

A looonnnngg time in the tech world is approximately one year! Yes, I'm familiar with planned obsolescence! I think DW is planning that way too!!

I was out by the pool.....hot and thirsty...

So I make my way into the house and go to the Skybox.

I push "Coca-Cola" thinking an ice cold Coke sounds like heaven.....

and what comes out?? A PEPSI! BLECH!

Seems that we were out of Coke and Mike restocked the Skybox with the leftovers from Frances' visit last fall.

Yuck (to the Pepsi, not to Frances!)

I don't know, how about Dec. 24? We can be pre-empted if someone with younger kids wants him. We just have the one big (six foot) one.

I get strange looks when asked how old my kids are and I reply: 37,10, and 8 - all from 1 marriage...
