Good Job Mary - thanks for your efforts. Irene :flower:

Hectic weekend for some of you! Glad Emily is OK.

Hectic week for us too. Alicia got a call to help with a beginning dance camp, then she has her workshop in the evenings. So I'm back to shuttling this week. Guess I will try to get some more Ebay listings ready to go for my return from WDW. And get ready to go.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LISA! :Pinkbounc

Thanks for all of the well-wishes for Emily. I called day care about an hour ago to check on her. She was just coming in from playing on their playground. She was doing just fine and playing as normal.

Excellent! Glad to hear. Kids are so resillant!
Must have been scary for you. I'm glad they sent you to the ER so plastics could do her lip. Whenever there is a lip involved it's better to get plastics involved!

Dropped KT off at her 2nd week of acting. Nick decided not to do this week so it's just me and him. We came home so I could get a few things done, and then when Mike gets home at lunch time we'll head out to the indoor play place for awhile.

See picture in my signature to see TERROR kitty!!

He was sickly when we got him....we didn't know that...we just saw it as "laid back, loving kitty." Well, he had kitty crud so he started an antibiotic last Monday. We slowly watched him turn from "laid back, loving kitty" to "climb your leg with all his claws out kitty!!" I can't type on the keyboard without him either batting at my hands or knocking EVERYTHING off my desk. I'm watching him closely b/c I'm thinking any minute his head will spin around!!

I'm afraid to give him his last few days of antibiotic. I don't really *want* him feeling any better!!!!

Angie - glad to hear your daughter is doing better. Kids do bounce back pretty quickly.

Our weekend was very laid back. No travel baseball this week. All the coaches have 12 y.o. sons who also play(my son is 9) and they go to Cooperstown to play baseball in a tournament all week. How cool is that? I have 3 more years before that happens to me. Sunday we just, let me rephrase that, I just basically hung out. My DH worked his *** off. He has been killing himself working on our house. He REALLY deserves a vacation. I'll have to look into that.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Talk to you all tonight. My little guy, Anthony just signed up for swimming lessons at the town pool, so for the next 2 weeks I'll be at the pool in the afternoon.

TTFN,
Maria

You sure have the luck with pets! Actually, our kitty is a terror kitty too. He's six now, and in poor health, but he still can terrorize! On a given evening, you can find him in our hallway, locked out of everyone's office/bedroom because of his antics. I cannot stand to have him in my office. I've devised a roadblock to leave my door open a crack so I can get some air, and he can't get in. Makes Kevin mad because he can't get in to talk to me either, but those are the breaks. Really, they just want our attention and a lap! Every hour of the day.

Yeah, we sure do. Although I think I can handle a terror kitty better than the terror dog we had!!

Well, we all had a busy weekend...let me see if I can recap:

Kids, what can I say - stitches, sure hope Emily's ok, :bounce: driving tests, :moped: off to camp, :cheer2: back from vacation - on the go! Happy Birthday, Little Lisa!!! :cake:

Hasn't the weather been acting up on some of us. More prayers for those in Emily's path. :umbrella:

Computers - enough said...I still use film. :badpc:

Ron Jon's - have wanted to stay there but have not. One of my ship-mates on the November cruise is staying so I will have a report back for you.

Where to stay in WDW - You cannot go wrong with WL. It has the best resturant, see ear;lier threads on that. But it is pricey. How much time will you be in your room or at the hotel pool? If not much - save money and stay at Pop Century - fun campy convenient, even more so if you have a car. :earsboy:

Passports - how exciting.....

HP - HP - HP - I am now finished, having read it between cleaning the fridge and doing laundry on Sunday.

Hmmmm - don't necessarily agree......

If it was teaching program - you might end up with an intern or resident who was "on-call" for plastics.....

When I was a senior resident at WVU families would always request plastics do suturing - and the usually got an intern doing the job.....

I am surprised that they sent her home as "sleepy" as they did. The ER physician in me wonders what they gave her - I would've used Ketamine for something like this - and she should have been awake prior to discharge.....

Quigley launches himself into the air to open up the door - he throws his weight on to our lever type handles and pops the door open. We have to lock the door at night so he can't get in - or get where he isn't supposed to... Unfortunately he's becoming a big kitty - and he thuds every time he hits the door.

Diz - our other kitty is the svelte wide receiver.... Quigley is the linebacker.... You would never know that they are brothers....

Ok, I know you didn't mean to make me nervous but now I wonder. I'm not sure if Children's is a teaching hospital or not. My guess is that it probably is. The dr. was on call because the nurse asked if he had to come a long way & he said he was in the library ... hmmm ... so probably studying. I'll just have to hope that Emily got the best care that she could and won't have a noticeable scar. She only needed one or two stitches but it's at the corner of her lip so I don't want her smile to look funny. I'll have to examine closely tonight. Any words of wisdom from the docs & nurses out there as to any special care or attention I should give to the stitched area (prior to & after the stitches come out)???? Should I have asked for a certain kind of doctor? Do I have the right to do that or must you take the on-call dr. (just in case I ever have to do this again)?

Emily was awake but definitely not what I would call alert. The nurse came in and asked her where she was & what the name of her stuffed animal was. She answered both correctly so the nurse said that we were free to go. When I called Bruce to tell him that we were heading home, Emily said that she saw 2 of me at the phone. She was still pretty whoozy when we got home & defintely could not stand up or even sit down without falling over. I wish I could remember what they gave her. They initally gave her a dose of Tylenol w/ codeine then gave her something through her nostrils just before doing the suturing.

Just rub some antibiotic ointment - or whatever they told you to use a couple of times a day..... This will prevent the formation of any scar tissue under the skin - you have to make sure you don't break the sutures.... or open the cut up.... The nice thing about the face and the mouth is that it heals quickly and easily, with minimal chance of infection.

It really doesn't matter who did it - as long as they did it correctly. Even if there is a problem, which I doubt that there is, it can always be fixed later - I am really trying to allay your concern - because I didn't mean to make you nervous.....

Well, 2 stitches does not sound like it will result in a scar - so this is intended to be funny (laugh with me mom).

"Emily can say she got her scar because HP was released that day". :rotfl2:

ok, back to being a concerned mom, I'm sure she will be fine.....
