Mary, would you and Mark like a dozen fresh brown eggs to take home with you after our mini-meet on Sunday? OHKaren, we're looking at a trip to Columbus OH the first part of August. We'd be dropping off DS to spend a quality weekend with his big sister in Kentucky, meeting her in Cinci, then heading up to Columbus to visit DBIL. Are you anywhere along that route? We'd bring you fresh eggs, too...

Sandi - sounds wonderful. Silly question though. How can I keep them fresh for the rest of the 3 hour drive? Won't they need to be refrigerated? Can you tell I'm a city girl.

Hi cruisers - Been driving Mary crazy  with my attempts to scan photos...Thanks Mary for all your hard work with the DoubleScoop Board. :flower:

Irene - thanks for the kind words. I think we are set. I'll get something up later tonight and will post when finished.

Maybe Scoopie can come on a "preview cruise" with us before the big one!

Barb - it seems like Scoopie likes cruising as much as you do. He's going on an Alsakan one this week, the August repo, the DVC Member Cruise, a Western this fall, and a Wonder cruise next Easter. I'm sure he'd love to cruise with you as well. :) Monica and her daughter Maggie are his travel agents. Give them your dates and they reserve a spot for Scoopie!

Hmm... do I see a second award category on the horizon????

Love it! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Might as well keep going. Especially since Jim isn't around. :)

I think there is a pirate online

Woo Hoo - got a top! Thought Karen (kiki) was going to grab it! Time to make dinner. Have a great evening everyone

They'll be so fresh that a 3 hour car ride won't hurt a thing. In fact, they may still be warm from the chickens when I put them in our car.

Sandi - that is awesome! How can I turn down such a generous request. We don't go through a lot of eggs (it is just the two of us). How about 1/2 dozen.

Thanks!

Maybe if they get warm enough they'll hatch on the way home! :)

That would be a looonnnggg 3 hour ride back if that happened. 6 little baby chicks chirping at you. How CUTE is that? Little fur balls. Maybe Bear could sit on them and keep them warm. :rotfl: Then, when they hatch, they'll think he's the momma.....:rotfl2: I gotta go now, I think I'm a little sleep deprived.

Good luck Mary...fresh eggs, what can be better than that?

TTFN,
Maria :flower:

I think it's a hoot when I go in our post office in the spring and the whole place is "peeping." Seems buying chicks via mail order is a big thing around here!

Well, the only good thing about NOT managing to meet up with any fellow Double Scoopers this past weekend, is that it bought me more time of NOT telling the kids about the cruise. Now HOW many more days is it til Christmas???

Ray almost blew it once this weekend, when we were having a nice dinner and Elizabeth decided that she didn't want to go to the ladies room alone (her 3rd trip that night...)... he says, "What are you going to do on the cruise when you can go anywhere you want.... um... if we were to ever decide to take you on one..." I promptly got up from the table and escorted her... just to end the discussion!!!!

So, for now, the secret is safe!!

Life in the fast lane!!! (Actually, when I used to live in NH, it was the local Agway that was peeping... our kids could get them through school.) My kids' sitter had chickens... one of them got angry and pecked at Elizabeth when she was 2... the sitter's husband took that chicken into the woods for a 'time out'... she walked around for weeks saying, "chicken's in time out... chicken 'tacked (attacked) me... chicken's in time out... chicken 'tacked me..." (the chicken's time out in the woods involved a hatchet...)

Photo gallery update! I've added a picture of Irene (chip&dale&fun) She's with Chip & Dale so she must be the fun :) She tells me her DH Sam is still to shy to have his picture up. Also is a picture of Hedgie - their hedgehog (their companion like Bear is to Mark and I) on the Disney Magic.

Enjoy!

Photo Update #2!

I just got a beautiful new picture and their info from Shari. Stop on by and meet her and her DH Ken. They were our tablemates on the 10 day cruise and are wonderful people! I'm so excited they are sailing with us!

Our group seems to be getting bigger and bigger. Mary, is this how it usually happens? The closer to a cruise, the more people sign up to the DIS meet board? Hmmm...that's going to be a lot of shirts. We'll talk later. Chow for now.

TTFN,
Maria

Maria - yes i think we will see the group get bigger and bigger. Some people (like Ken and Shari) actually booked the cruise a while ago but since they were on the May repo their energy and posting has been on that cruise. Others will hear about these cruises through word of mouth or from friends. Still others will have been booked on the cruise but just found the DIS. The more the merrier I say.

As for the shirts - you just need to set a time limit. Set a date when you want a final design by. Set a date when you want all orders in. For our September cruise the last set of shirt orders is going in this week. For our December cruise I think the cut it much closer which caused them stress. i don't want to see you stress out on this. I would think a February cut-off would work for everyone. First step is finding out who is going to do them and how much time and money they need.

Just watch out for Ken. Man, can he EAT! I saw him at the Palo brunch going up for 2nds, and 3rds, and 4ths....craziness!!!! ;)

Karen - you are forgetting the golden rule. What happens in Palo - stays in Palo! :)
