I'm on Kraft Foods email list. I got this recipe one day & gave it a try. It was so good that I thought it was worth making again.

http://www.kraftfoods.com/main.aspx?s=recipe&m=recipe/knet_recipe_display&u1=keyword&u2=chocolate%20truffle%20pie&u3=**1*1&wf=9&recipe_id=70055

For the raspberry sauce, I just cooked down frozen raspberries with some sugar. I was too lazy to strain the seeds but everyone was ok with that.

Anyway, make it a good one. Carpe Diem (seize the day), even if it's soggy out there. Maybe a movie today. Anybody seen Robots?

TTFN,
Maria:flower:

Maria, I think your boys would enjoy Robots. Great animation, very imaginative. The script is lacking a bit, but they won't care about that.

Good morning all!

Then we spent a rather non-traditional Easter afternoon at Mamma Mia! It was hysterically funny, especially when the women were singing "Dancing Queen" with curling irons and blow dryers...I think John was more amused by my reaction than anything...Think I gave away another childhood secret by my uncontrollable giggling...He was being a major stick-in-the mud making me sit down during the encore concert - o.k. we were 6th row - and no one else around us was up dancing. I think the kids were about ready to join him under their chairs in embarassment - the balcony was dancing - why couldn't I??? - At the end of the month we're seeing Billy Joel's "Movin' Out" - I think he's a little concerned over what I will do next...

Monica

Lucky you, Monica! I've been wanting to see that show. Are they both touring companies? Wonder if Movin' Out will ever make it to Albuquerque.

What is it with kids and boxes... I don't think they outgrow that whole thing til they are actually TOO BIG to fit in the box!!!! My DD just complained yesterday that the TV in her room only goes up to channel 99... so I reminded her that when I was a kid, the TV only got 3 channels... I offered to take the cable hookup out of her room if 99 channels was too much for her.

I will just have to buy bigger stuff to get bigger boxs as they grow older.

If your DD is having a problem with 99 channels just let her know that my kids don't even have a TV in their rooms. No Ipods, computers, or TV in their rooms. I am so mean!

Same here - and, also we don't have cable, either...my children are sooo deprived :teeth:

check www.broadwayacrossamerica.com Our line-up for Houston is/was incredible this year with Les Miz and Phantom, so we did season tickets as our Christmas presents. Figured the kids didn't need more stuff (with all the grandparent gifts - they really didn't mind)...We're involved in a local theatre company both on-stage and and behind the scenes; it's been soo much fun to experience the productions in the audience, together. We've enjoyed the performances so much, I'm sure we'll do it again next year.

I took the kids to see Robots on Saturday, since John worked the command center...it was cute - all the best lines were in the previews. Robin Williams was rather tame in this one, compared to his Genie anticsin Aladin...The kids loved it, though.

I just gave in very recently on the TV in her room... and it has SERIOUS restrictions about its use. (I can set the sleep timer and take away the remote...works great!) We had an extra that wasn't being used, and due to some circumstances that I won't go into here, I let her have the TV in her room... but it has been removed for days at a time on occasion already. Actually, I don't need to remove the TV itself... just the cable that leads to the wall!!!

The computer is firmly planted in the dining room, and she hasn't really uncovered the 'wonder' of iPod's yet... so I'm still pretty safe.

I guess I get the bad parent of the year award, as 2 of my kids have 27 in dvd/vcr combos in their room!

Dont' worry, my guys don't have a TV in their room either. They do have their own computer, but that's in a separate room and they don't even have the internet on it. Even though I bought a router about a year ago and still haven't hooked it up yet. The computer is 9 years old and we're going to get them a new one this Christmas.

I'm a little worried about the TV, though they still listen to us, that won't last too much longer (9 & 5 years old). They will be moving into a bigger room when the addition is done, I'm sure they will ask then. The satellite hook up is already there. I'll deal with it when the time comes. Until then.....

TTFN,
Maria

It's all in the perspective - If my kids were casting ballots, you'd rank as the "cool mom" in my house :rotfl2:

oh geez, I got "tagged" again - at least it was a good comment! After I hit "submit" for my earlier comments for momma mia - I was afraid something would magically appear then... whew!

Responding to several messages here:

Forget about the number of channels, (which I think was 7) what about the fact that at some point not terribly late at night they would play the National Anthem and then you would get the test pattern for 5 hours or so until the broadcast day began again.

And I had to walk 5 miles to school, uphill both ways in 4 feet of snow while it was 110 degrees in the shade.

Now let me get this straight I am supposed to tell a bunch of strangers a lot of information incuding my kids names, ages, and post a picture of us and then tell you what stateroom we will be staying in?!?!?! There is 13 months left before the cruise I am bound to piss off one of you during that time. Call me paranoid but I don't think I have that much faith in the general goodness of mankind.

But hey this is Disney, the happiest place on earth...6516,6518, early seating.

McFamily, those of us that have been on the Meet threads for awhile do feel that we are in our own little world here. Not many pervs would brave the many pages of posts here to find personal info. Or, that's what we tell ourselves.

You may have a point.

Hi everybody. Today was the first day back at work after being off a week and boy was it killer. Everything was going wrong and it started when I walked out the door this morning and spilled my Diet Pepsi down the front of my dress. Had to go back in and find something else to wear. (Ugh)

Swim practice started back up today for Ashley after our 2 week hiatus. They updated the leaderboard for the end of season standings by age group for the "Short Course - Yards" session and Ashley was 1st in 3 events. I am really proud of how hard she has worked in one year to come this far.:flower:

We have our first meet of the "Long Course - Meters" season at the end of April. Fun, Fun, Fun!

Sure hope tomorrow starts off better than today. Hope everyone has a great week!

Pam

Hey, Scuba Jim! You know that thing you told Kevin that Sharon is letting you buy? You should ask him about the thing I'm in the process of buying for him!
