I hate it too... it ranks right up there with carving pumpkins... thankfully, my parents are here for Easter, and Gramma was more than happy to color eggs with the kids while I napped off my jet-lag yesterday!!!!!!!

Grandma did Easter eggs last Sunday before they headed back to the north.

Just got back from celebrating Lisa's state meet with a dinner at Stonewoods. I hope she keeps winning because I enjoy eating!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

We had 15 for Easter Dinner, and as usual DH cooked up a storm (totally unrelated to the late afternoon thunderstorms, though!) We had lamb in pesto marinade, ham slow cooked in beer (of course), smoky bacon & cheese mashed potatoes, maple raisin sweet potatoes, green beans, etc, etc, etc... yum! Looks like it will be leftovers all week, but I'm not complaining!!!!

Very Impressive!! We just had one extra for dinner today. Had rib eye steakes in a shalot mushroom sause. During the MSU game we had mussels in a sambuca sauce.

Yesterday we bought some new TVs from Costco. Tonight DD is sleeping in the box in the pool house. We are training her in case she ever becomes homeless. As DS said, "It's not just a box, it's a WIGA box (that's a Sony top of the line box)." Sad, but true. Our daughter is sleeping in a box tonight. It's in a pool house, but she's still in the box.

I hope all who celebrated the holiday had a blessed Easter this year. Since I work at a church, this week has been filled with activity and I was elated when one of my choir members invited our family over for dinner. We had a great time!

I'm sorry I haven't posted in eons. Time just slips away. We're still looking forward to our cruise with all our you next year!

Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a great EASTER spent with family or friends. I had a very nice day and the kids enjoyed ALL their candy and treats from the Easter bunny. Wait til I catch him. Oh, the candy. It's getting closer and closer to the amount at Halloween. That's OK, in a couple of days, most of it will find it's way out of my house one way or the other. Get it? The weather in NY held out and it didn't rain. Not a lot of sun, but at least it wasn't wet. Now today, that's another story. It's raining, cold, and damp. As my mother would've said, "dank". My kids are off from school today to boot. Can you say, "entertainment committee"? You gotta love it.

Anyway, make it a good one. Carpe Diem (seize the day), even if it's soggy out there. Maybe a movie today. Anybody seen Robots?

Got a bad virus in my computer and poor Mark spent all of Sunday trying to get rid of it. Still not working. I'm on the notebook right now.

Good morning everyone! I have lots of posts from the weekend to catch up on.

Just a quick note to say that I'm no longer a Banfi virgin!

All of my family is in for the Easter weekend - parents & brother in from LA, sister, brother-in-law, neice & nephew in from FL. Here was our menu from Easter dinner: filet mignon with crawfish bordelaise, steamed asparagus, and baked potatoes. For dessert we had chocolate truffle pie with raspberry sauce ... and of course, BANFI! It was delicious.

If anyone wants the recipe for the chocolate truffle pie, let me know. It's very easy and YUMMY!

No, if I cooked all that it would have been impressive... for Ray, its just normal. (I DID make the lemonade for the kids & the pregnant guest, though..)

Tonight DD is sleeping in the box in the pool house. Sad, but true. Our daughter is sleeping in a box tonight. It's in a pool house, but she's still in the box.

What is it with kids and boxes... I don't think they outgrow that whole thing til they are actually TOO BIG to fit in the box!!!! My DD just complained yesterday that the TV in her room only goes up to channel 99... so I reminded her that when I was a kid, the TV only got 3 channels... I offered to take the cable hookup out of her room if 99 channels was too much for her.

Good morning all!

Now, I know where we're spending our next holidays at Karen, Angie or Jim's house!!! Sounds wonderful! We were extra specially blessed yesterday, John was able to spend the day with us instead of working the Emergency Command Center at BP. We always enjoy our pastor's sermons but, yesterday hit especially hard when he said "not IF but WHEN you die, where will you be?..."

The Easter Bunny was bi-partisan and brought ds an Astros jersey and dd a Cubs jersey...Our loyalties are firmly split along gender lines...GO CUBS!!!

Then we spent a rather non-traditional Easter afternoon at Mamma Mia! It was hysterically funny, especially when the women were singing "Dancing Queen" with curling irons and blow dryers...I think John was more amused by my reaction than anything...Think I gave away another childhood secret by my uncontrollable giggling...He was being a major stick-in-the mud making me sit down during the encore concert - o.k. we were 6th row - and no one else around us was up dancing. I think the kids were about ready to join him under their chairs in embarassment - the balcony was dancing - why couldn't I??? - At the end of the month we're seeing Billy Joel's "Movin' Out" - I think he's a little concerned over what I will do next...
