I'm assuming it would be bad form to fluff post to 7000 all by myself this a.m.??? :teeth:

I'd hit 500 during that point too....

Good morning everyone! Looks like I'll have to be keeping up with the thread today as we'll probably hit #7000 during the day today. Hope it doesn't happen at lunch. We have a catered "cookout" at lunch today. Hopefully the rain will stay away!

Looks like I'll probably miss an opportunity to head to FL in the fall. My manager asked the other day if I'd be interested in attending our user conference this year. It's being held at the Ritz-JW Marriott resort area ... what's it called ... Grande Lakes? They held it there 2 years ago. One night they rented out part of Universal & had the B-52s for a concert there. I probably won't be able to go because of back surgery. I still haven't scheduled anything but am thinking that I'll probably have it in Oct.

THANKS!!

Ok, one more dumb question....
If I go to the store, will the meat simply be called "Prime Rib?"

I hate when you are looking for one cut of meat, but the store calls it something different. Hmmm...."excuse me sir, is this a Top Round English Cut Rolled Prime Roast??" "No, ma'am, this is a Top Round English Cut Rolled Sirlion Prime Roast....they are totally different!"

That is a pretty good question. I run into that all the time.

I normally get bone out rib eye, usually ribs 1-6. The good thing about prime rib is that the meat better look like a whole prime rib. If it comes out flat, than it's not a prime rib. The main question will be bone in or bone out. I normally cook bone out because it is easier. If I buy a bone in, I will butcher it so I have a slab of ribs to grill up.

Do you find there is only one bad part about dining out? It is either as good or not nearly as good as what you can do yourself...(o.k. - not me cooking, John...)

We tend to leave a restaurant unsatisfied because John has developed his level of cooking to the point where we can't afford the really good restaurants, wish we could just to call it research...So, if we go out for date night, we tend to hit restaurants with styles that John wouldn't ordinarily cook...

But, then again - he won't have time until next May...Date nights are just fine!!!

I think Chip&Dale&Fun said she had a good idea for kareoke....

Irene, where are you???? Wake up!!!!

Since we're on the subject of food - Jimmy mentions the subject in one of his little ditties :teeth:

Cheeseburger in Paradise
Tried to amend my carnivorous habits
Made it nearly seventy days
Losin’ weight without speed, eatin’ sunflower seeds
Drinkin’ lots of carrot juice and soakin’ up rays

But at night I’d had these wonderful dreams
Some kind of sensuous treat
Not zuchinni, fettucini or bulghar wheat
But a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat

Chorus:
Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Heaven on earth with an onion slice (paradise)
Not too particular not too precise (paradise)
I’m just a cheeseburger in paradise

Heard about the old time sailor men
They eat the same thing again and again
Warm beer and bread they said could raise the dead
Well it reminds me of the menu at a holiday inn

Times have changed for sailors these days
When I’m in port I get what I need
Not just havanas or bananas or daiquiris
But that american creation on which I feed

Chorus:
Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Medium rare with mustard ’be nice (paradise)
Heaven on earth with an onion slice (paradise)
I’m just a cheeseburger in paradise

I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Well good God almighty which way do I steer for my

Chorus:
Cheeseburger in paradise (paradise)
Makin’ the best of every virtue and vice (paradise)
Worth every damn bit of sacrifice (paradise)
To get a cheeseburger in paradise
To be a cheeseburger in paradise
I’m just a cheeseburger in paradise

Coda:
I like mine with lettuce and tomato
Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Well good God almighty which way do I steer for my

Sorry- DD and her usual AM drama made me a few minutes late for work... what's the world coming to when there's no chunky peanut butter in the house.

OK... seeing as everyone's in the food mood this morning, lets start the Friday karaoke with food jingles...

Ooey , gooey, rich and chewy inside
Golden, cakey, tender, flaky outside
Wrap the inside in the outside
It’s so good! Darn tootin’
Doin’ the big Fig Newton

That's what I'll be having for lunch today - from the famous "Varsity". Granted, I won't I won't be in paradise since I'll still be at work. But, I will be having a cheeseburger.
