5/27/06 "Il pochi il fiero i blabbermouths" We *will* sail again Part 13

When I went on that sailing trip 11 years ago, we left from Tortola. It was a different experience than being on a cruiseship. We island-hopped on the sailboat & dropped anchor whenever we wanted to snorkel. We spent a good time at The Baths. It was a lot of fun but can get crowded. If you look at this map, we pretty much traveled to all of these islands.

That's awesome! I see one of the snorkeling stops is at Cane Garden Bay. When I was researching, it was between Brewer's and Cane Garden. Now I'm thinking that since this stop was on your itinerary (and not Brewer's) maybe we should go there instead. :confused3

That's it. New cruise line....new rules. At least I can still bring wine.

In the past, NCL hasn't been too concerned with what you bring on... but then again, I haven't cruised with them since '03...

I had to go pull out my pictures to see where all we went. Here's the run-down

Sandy Spit
Great Harbor, Jost Van **** (the boards "bleeped" this one out)
Soper's Hole
Monkey Point
Cane Garden Bay, Tortola
Marina Cay
Bitter End
Virgin Gorda
The Baths
Cooper Island
snorkeled over the Wreck of The Rhone
The Caves, Norman Island
The Bight at Norman Island (William Thorton)

You'll definitely have to have a bushwhacker for me!!!! YUMMY!

We just had that discussion with our kids about our upcoming NCL Bermuda cruise... I also had to inform them that soda isn't free, and Christopher can't sign himself in and out of the club... (he'll be 11 at the time). With 22 of us going, I have a feeling they won't be spending as much time doing 'ship stuff' as usual... I think they'll want to hang with the extended family, as we hardly ever get to see them.

I just hope Mom feels like she's healthy enough to go...

Holland America's Soda is not free either. My understanding is you can buy a soda card and they will punch it for each drink. From what I have read on Cruise Critic, it works out to $2 / half can. We will be bringing our own on the cruise obviously. I don't know if soda is included at meals or if it is only ice tea / lemonade / etc. We will know soon.

OMG - did you guys see how the beautiful the castle is for the holiday season?

Can't wait to see it in person in just over 3 weeks!

Mary - ooooooaaaaahhhhhhhhhh...

We are going for Candlelight Procession and had not planned on seeing the castle - as we only had 2 nights - Osborn lights and Candlelight were on the tentative list.....How can I fit in three night events??????/

I am sure you have a way I can be in three places at once....

Tonight I start my packing for our Thanksgiving cruise and it just does not seem the same without all of you. :sad1:

I even had to find a scuba buddy from Southern California to share a dive boat. Sad day!

Sharon is, of course, all ready packed since she and Lisa are at the gym every night. This gives Matt and I plenty of time to get all of our stuff together.

I will be taking bottle or two of the Double Scoop wine to enjoy.

Before I forget - have an absolutely wonderful cruise.

Bring the horses down at the end of January because some of us will be in that area for cavern diving. :woohoo:

The picture of the castle was on the cover of the Mickey Monitor. If this is the first year, how are there pictures? Unless it is CG. Guess who wants to go take his own pictures? I just want to SEE it. But no Holiday trip this year, school is not out until Dec. 21. :sad2:

Alicia worked at Target last night, learned how to cashier. She got a seasonal job there. She said it's hard, and people are not so patient. I can see I will never be allowed to be antsy in a cashier line again.

She said it's hard, and people are not so patient.

Sounds like she's getting a crash course in "Life 101"... unfortunately, it doesn't always get better with age and profession...

The 'motto' of our 'mothership' has always been (and still is) "Making friends is our business"... however, the unwritten 2nd line is "...and pissing them off is our specialty".

It's not early. It's always the fourth Thursday in November. Thursday, November 22 is the fourth Thursday this year. :)

Wow, that went fast! Is Vanessa done after Christmas? Hope you got some cheap trips in while she was there. Is she planning to go back for summers?

Yes, I think the job thing is quite an education. She had to go in at 7:30 this morning, so up early on the weekend. She kind of likes it so far, but it will probably get old fast. Then the real learning kicks in.
